So when I turn on my headlights my turn signal indicator lights on the instrument cluster will illuminate but not flash, when I turn on each turn signal the opposite indicator light will go out, the appropriate indicator light will flash as expected and the turn signal light will flash as expected. Bare with me this gets confusing. When I turn on the headlights the rear lights do not illuminate. They only illuminate when I use a turn signal. So the left turn signal turns on both driving lights and activates the appropriate turn signal and vice versa. Now for the main issue. Whenever I turn on the headlights my temp and fuel gauge will slowly spike and peg out until I turn the lights off.

So far I peaked at the fuses, removed the headlight switch connector and greased the pins, removed 2 grounding bolts, sanded and greased those. No dice.

I almost never use the headlights so It's not a huge issue, I just had it in the garage for service so I figured I'd take a crack at it.

Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Going to say it is a grounding issue near the dash! just keep cleaning them! I often attach an artificial ground to verify where I might have issues. When putting things together and all the paint is new like everything they work but after a few years we learn where the grounds are!

Have agree with "art" sounds like grounding issues.... Clean (wire brush or scotch bright) all ground connections, coat with dielectric grease to keep moisture and oxygen out (major cause of corrosion) and tighten.... NO, dielectric grease wont cause connection to not work if it is a solid mechanical connection under grease....

I use this on my truck snow plow connections. I will say that when I first read about it I was skeptical !!!

I first learned about electrical grease and anti oxidant grease when I went to work in telecommunications in 1963.... Been using these types of grease on every electrical connection I encounter and never have found any fault with any connection using these types of grease.... Secret is solid mechanical connection under grease.... I use dielectric grease on automobile lamp bulbs/sockets and light bulbs in house, extension cords that might be exposed to corrosion...

I use the product below on all my batteries in all my vehicles... First thing I do when I bring new vehicle home is clean battery and cable terminals (neutralize) and polish the connectors and posts with scotch bright pad and apply grease... I have had batteries go 8 years in my PU and absolutely no corrosion at terminals... Battery died from internal problem first....

I had a similar issue regarding the jumping gauges on my b2320. Turned out to be some kind of grounding resistor bolted to the engine block under he air filter. Replaced it and all was good.
