ok, so I went brain dead for a few minutes changing the hydro oil on my B2100 HSD.
The question is, there's a 17mm capscrew smack dap in the lower middle on the front of the rear transmission case, right where a steel hydro line comes from the filter. Hmmm, same size as the drain plugs, hence the brain dead comes into play.
Inside there is (was) a spring and a cone shaped piece, I'm assuming a pressure relief. Anyway, it came out and I'm wondering and checking with the gurus if I put it back in the correct way.
I put it in cone first, taper inwards to the case, then the spring into the recess on the capscrew.
Won't even use the excuse that I was scampering from under the 'bota and changing the oil on the jeep, and having to chase the puppy thru the woods. Sometimes multiprocessing doesn't work right. And yes, the shop manual was ordered last weekend.
Thanks

I think you got it right. I did the same thing the first time I changed the oil on mt B2400.

Thanks Hayden. I appreciate the second opinion for some peace of mind. I didn't do the dumb on the first change, but I've been running the lil thing pretty hard this past summer on my new property. Even though I have only 130 total hours, it's cheaper in the long run to do filters and fluids. Besides, the Kubota may grow up to be like my other toys, the Harley and the Vette...when those two are neglected...it's worse than the ex and her attorney.
