Well, It's not like this issue hasn't come up previously.

B21 fuel shut off solenoid - Google Search

For your reading pleasure.

hah! thanks, I've read and reread that one several times since this has happened. Trying to wrap my head around it unfortunately I learn best by doing or being show, especially when it comes to wires...

Provide pictures of the old, new, and connection points. That might help this arm chair electrical diagnosis. Do you have the WSM so you can trace out the circuits. $100 takes away a lot of frustration.

Ron

I don't have that unfortunately. Will have to look into that and get some pics tomorrow. Thanks!

I;ve never seen a 3 wire ETSO solenoid.. therefore.. take it OFF/OUT of the machine & try to start it..
With all this cranking, the injectors prob. need to be bled..??
Loosen the lines AT THE INJECTORS afew turns, ALL OF THEM & w/ the sol. removed, crank the engine until fuel squirts out..
Once u get fuel to come out, tighten the lines & off ya go..

If you bleed as pumpguy suggest, be sure to have throttle FULL ON. Shortens the cranking time and saves battery/starter. Only crank in 15-20 second intervals and let starter cool for a minute between cranks.

If I was guessing I'd say that a 3 wire solenoid would have one lead powered with the switch in the run position, which would go to the maintain coil, another lead from the crank position which would be the pull in coil of the solenoid, and a ground lead.
If you check your solenoid operation with the wires connected and the solenoid not installed,
key off - solenoid not energized
key on - solenoid may buzz and pin may quiver but not move much
key to start - solenoid pin should retract or extend firmly
key back to run - solenoid should hold in the position achieved in start
key off - solenoid back to none energized position

if the solenoid behaves properly it would seem to be in the "rack" of the pump, and then go with the pump guys lead most likely.

Lou, I have a V2203 I installed in a skid steer. It functions just as you describe-3wire setup.

Well I checked the fuses again and sure enough the fuse was blown. Replaced it, started it right up finished the job, and drove it home with no issues. Thanks for the help!

Good to know. Are you thinking the fuse blew with the original solenoid?
