im getting ready to look at a kubota L3400 tractor. can someone tell me if the transmission is made out of aluminum?

The real question is, what is the concern of Aluminum versus other material?

Why, steel is better, of course! Just look at my Power Trac. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think there has been some discussion in the past about threads pulling out of aluminum and aluminum castings not being as strong as steel and the weight issue, as well. I'd have to go back and search the threads.

the transmission and rear axle housing are cast steel
