Thank you again for the responses. I use the the 4500 FEL with forks for any logging needs. So I shoudn't need a FEL for the new tractor. ccsial I know about cutting wire too short. I am an electrician and spend too much time searching for a "wire stretcher". I guess it comes down to features
versus horsepower and weight. I like the 3 pt. and PTO features of the B3030 I also like the additional horsepower and weight of the L3400. jbrumberg, Thanks for the welcome. I guess my main concern of the PTO is the required hp. for cutting and chipping. The main duty is rough cutting a wooded 6 ac. space. There is wild grass, saplings and briars in this area. The other job will be chipping. We always have a lot of downed limbs. In the future I will be clearing a space for a new building and several small trees will be removed. The chipper will be needed for all of the tops. I will be headed back to the dealership soon and mybe I can make a decision.

I have a B3030 that I use with a 6 " chipper. It handles 4 to 5 inch softwoods. Hardwood limbs are not a problem. I don't tend to chip the hardwood ... burn it. Decaying punky wood is tough to feed without jambing.

I use the B3030 to care for 6.5 acres. The only other Kubota machine I considered was the L39. I chose the B3030 based on size to get around in the woods.

I'm sure you will enjoy either machine

BandDcabinet ,

What kind of Chipper are you using and if you don't mind asking what did you pay for it?? Any problems with it and how do you like it. I am in the market for one and still collecting info on them. Thanks.

Hey guys wanted to give you an update. I believe we have settled
on the B3030 with rotary cutter and box scrape. I have not made
a decision on the chipper yet. The Jinma 6 weighs 800 Lbs.
Without the FEL,I am worried this will make the tractor back heavy.
I can move down to the Jinma 4, it is 650 lbs. What do you guys think?

The 6 inch Wallenstein weighs approx. 630 lbs. I have never had the chipper on without the loader. The tractor has no problems with this chipper.

Thanks for the response. Does the Wallenstein BX62 pull in material? I am looking for a Jinma, But haven't found one local. This might be another option. I wanted the Jinma, because of the self feed.

I should have mentioned earlier that both the B3030 and L3400 are HST.
I can see where the added weight and power could be an advantage. I have been searching the spec sheets for differences. One of the differences is the PTO engagement. Will this be an issue on the L3400. Do you have to stop, to disengage PTO? While reading the spec sheets I noticed there is only a 4.5 hp. difference in PTO hp. Will this be noticeable? Will it affect mowing or the use of a chipper? I am trying to find a feature or item that will be the deciding factor. Thanks again for the input.
One thing no one has mentioned, and Kubota, may have upgraded on the newer L2800/3400, is the three point system. I have a 2004 Kubota L2800 that came std. with the quarter-inching valve on the three-point; in fact Kubota received so many complaints, that they were replaced free with the infinite positioning ones. The quarter-inching valve is a (PITA), when using a box blade! All of the new L2800/3400 may have been already upgraded, but I would check before purchase?

The dealer dropped the B3030 off today. It arrived with a BushHog SQ600
and a 5' box scrape. I spent three hours running it with the BH. I couldn't be happier. It is amazing how well it maneuvers around trees. The HST is so much better than the gear I am accustomed to. I was also amazed at how well the tractor did on the wet ground. I mowed across areas, where I had previously stuck the 4500. Anyway I wanted to say thanks for the advice and responses.
