Kubota 900 fuel cap/tank

It was suggested I move this to this forum from the Kubota forum so now it's double posted - Sorry about that - couldn't find instructions as how to move it. Bought a 2006 RTV at auction - fuel cap leaks like a sieve - from older threads I see when they were under warranty Kubota replaced the fuel tank. Is there any other known fix other than the purchase of an expensive fuel tank? Replacement of the cap didn't help in fact I can't even get it to start screwing on.

Yes there is a fix. It's a new fuel cap with the words "Diesel Only" printed on the cap. I had the same problem with my RTV 900. Went round and round with Kubota and got nowhere. I ended up buying this cap and "wala", my problems were over. I don't remember what the part number was it's been too long, mine too is a 2006. Main thin is it must say "Diesel Only" on the cap.

Hope the cap fixes you up, we got one under warranty when the first one started to leak,no more problems . Good luck with it, great machines !

Look up in your original thread......I and others tried the "diesel only" caps...........some work and others dont................God bless........Dennis

I read about this a couple of years back on another site and the tank and cap replacement fixed the problem. One fellow put an extra gasket on his cap and fixed it, the cap wouldn't screw down enough to contact the gasket and fuel leaked around the threads. If I remember correctly, the gasket is just a big O ring.
