Thinking of replacing my Kubota 4610 (cab) with a new Kubota 4760 ( cab). Can anyone offer any advice on the 4760? I plow snow and handle palletized firewood during the winter ......and my wife uses it all summer for her gardening projects. I have been out of the tractor market, pretty much, since buying the 4610 about 20 yrs ago. Any thoughts/views would be appreciated.

I have the smallest Kubota Grand L, an L3560.

The HST+ transmission is wonderful.

I am 73 years old. I appreciate the waist level fuel entrance, so you fuel standing on the ground.

I've owned my L3560 since January 2013. Well worth the money.

The L4760 has enough power to compensate for the 650 pounds of cab weight.

Few would not load load the tires of an L4760 cab tractor. The cab provides enough rear tire weight for traction.

thanks for that info, Jeff. I haven't compared the specs closely...assuming they are similar...with the 4760 being superior. I do like the idea of the easy access fueling too....being 71, myself, things like this matter. The HST is great ( currently have it on the 4610 ) and makes it possible for my wife to operate the tractor...with ease. I will load the rears and run chains on the front....as I have been doing with the 4610....really need it for traction for plowing snow. The 4670 has a roomier cab w/better access thru doors....also something this 6'2 old man is looking forward to.

I plow a wide variety of rural driveways with my L4060. With fluid filled rears and grooved R4's I have yet to need to use chains.
My previous L3410 open station was considerably lighter, and showed it while plowing.
The transmission is a giant leap forward from the L10 series machines.

I have owned my 5460 for about 1.5 years. The 5460 is the same tractor as the 4760 only a turbo is added. I have been very pleased overall with the tractor. I wrote a long review of the tractor which you can find if you look for threads I started. The feature I like most is the ability to switch on the fly between hi and low within each range. Also I don’t know if you are considering a cab but the Grand L cab is nice. Also I really like the fact that the hood and fenders are steel like a tractor should be.

I actually wanted a 4760 but the dealer had a 5460 on the lot and gave me a good price.

The HST on the 4610 is nothing like the HST+ on the 40 and 60 series Grand L tractors. There's a lever near the steering wheel that acts like a high and low range for each of the 3 gears. You can shift it at any time, even without letting off the HST pedal. I rarely have to shift into low or high gear.

I have heard about that 'shift on the fly' and it sounds great. with my 4610, I often use the 3 ranges and, of course, have to be completely stopped to shift ( and Then it isn't what I would call a smooth operation.....especially on a slope ). So really looking forward to having That feature.

I Have plowed w/o the chains...and the traction is ok for the most part...but I have a cpl small slopes to deal with and the chains make all the difference. being only the fronts it's an easy install..so no big deal.

Does anyone know what the model JD would be comparable to the 4760 / cab ? and how it stacks up performance and price-wise?

You would need to look at either the JD 4044R or the 4052R depending on if you want to go on the low or high side of the Kubota L4760.

ALL of these tractors are very nice machines.
