There’s a couple tire shops around and I’ll be cking w them. I try to first use all the local family outfits. I think it’s worth it to pay a little more and use them.

I’m going to the ranch tomorrow and determine if the current tires I have are 8 or 10 ply. I have a pretty heavy duty frt end loader so I’ll definitely go w 10 ply. I’ll take some pics tomorrow & post them.

Wishing everyone a safe, healthy & prosperous new year !!

A high quality 8 ply domestic tire will outperform a 10 ply Chinese tire 9 times out of 10.

Hello to all & HNY !

The original Goodyear (GY) 2WD 7.5 - 16 ribbed tires are close to their end. I have tubes in both of them now.

Looking for recommendations on replacing both front tires. Is the quality of 2022 GY still there, or is there a better brand available? Thank you.

PS - I’ve kept the tractor in a nice shed when not being used so no UV except when using it

Hope everyone has a safe & prosperous new yr / tstex

Goodyear no longer makes their own ag tires, they sold the division to Titan who makes and sells the Goodyear-branded tires. The ones I've been around that have been made in the last 10 years have been fine. I've not had any issues with any of the larger makers (Firestone, Titan/Goodyear, Galaxy/Primex, Carlisle). I haven't seen newer 7.50-16 F2 tires available in 10 ply though, they are 6 or 8 ply. Most of the tractors this size specify a 6 ply 7.50-16 tire, but you would need to check your manual as Kubota doesn't post them online. Heavier is fine though.

I got a pair of used 22ply aircraft tires for a 2wd Ford 4500 backhoe. Worked well for over 20 years. Easily handled heavy loader work. At the time they cost less than standard rib non-flotation tire.

I don't think the local Kubota dealer sells tires. There are so many tire shops in this area. For tractors I prefer Goodyear or Titan. I have a Les Schwab tire dealership locally. I buy all my tires from them.

We used Goodyear light aircraft tires on the front of our 33 hp do-everything Yanmar because that was the best fit to keep the 4wd ratio correct with oversize rears. Lots of plies, good sidewall rigidity with the loader, but still gave a better ride than a tractor tire. We ran it in hard rocky ground. Tread is universal type insteadof ribbed, and the tire shape was sort of fat instead of skinny like a ribbed front. The tread looked more like an all-weather automotive tread. Cost was about the same as a standard tractor tire, maybe less.

Well,

Here’s a pic of the front tire and it’s a 7.5-16 Firestone but I was surprised it was a 6 ply and not at least an 8-10 ply. Therefore, if I went w an 8-ply bc of the front end loader, I should be good, yes?

Thanks for your feedback

Rick,

thanks. Is an F2 8 ply or other?
What specs need to be specified for the ribs indicated in the pic along w 7.5-16 8-ply? Thanks again
