Krylon\'s \"Kubota Orange\"?

Saw this for the first time at the local hardware store today . It's labled as "Farm and Implement". They had some Deere green and yellow as well as a couple of other brands colors. Has anyone tried the Kubota Orange? Is it a good match?

How much does the can cost? I have been buying the 1620 chevy orange at walmart for about $3.50 a can. It matches pretty good.

I haven't seen that one, but I will be looking for it. Thanks for the tip. I have been using "Allis Chambers Orange" from Ace hardware. It is a perfect match for the Kubota Grand L color.

I think the price was $3.99 a can. Our local hardware store is an Ace "affilliate" so you can probably have them order it, esp. since they carry the one for Allis. I think I will pick up a can next time and give it a try. BTW, the can sku sticker says "Intended to Match 1821 Kubota Orange/Anaranjado"

I bought a can at my dealer for around $7.00. He asked what year I had. They have two oranges, the caps on the cans are close but not the same. Kubota changed it slightly on newer tractors. Krylon is laquer. The Kubota stuff is acrylic enamel which seems more durable to me. It matches perfectly.

The #1620 Chevy engine orange is located in the automotive section of the Wal-Mart store. It is called Duplicolor.

You have to be careful putting lacquer over fresh enamel. Unless the enamel is old and well cured, the lacquer will cause the enamel to curl and wrinkle and then you will have a real painting challenge to repair it... That is the way it was 35 years ago, so I assume that it is still the same today... Junk.....

Krylon makes both, acrylic enamel and laquer. I use the fast dry stuff (12 min.) in acrylic enamel and it works great, and only 2.58 a can (WalMart). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I puchased two cases of the Allis Chambers Orange when my local hardware store had them for sale for $1.00 a can.

Learned real quik that it does indeed curl acrylic paint. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I'm not sure when they changed, but when I bought a spray can of orange touch up paint from a Kubota dealer in '99, they had both the "old" and the "new" colors, so of course the '99 models were the new color.

My dealer does not know the date but thinks it was early 80's they went with a brighter orange. I have to say I use so little touch up paint that price never crossed my mind.
