Guys, I have a Koyker 120, about 9 months old. The tilt function is terribly slow and the stick moves hard - The valve below the stick is very hot, which it never burned my hand before.

Hyd fluid is not old and is properly filled.

All of the rest of the hyd work OK.

There is a hydraulic screen I could try and clean, but I cleaned it about 15 hours ago.

Any ideas?

I would guess you have an obstruction in the valve. That could explain the heat and slow function. Could be a separated o-ring, piece of Teflon tape, piece of crud from the system, piece of RTV silicone, piece of a seal, etc. Take the cover off the control valve and figure out which spool valve functions tilt and see if you can disassemble and inspect/clean it. There is also the possibility that there is an obstruction between the valve and the tilt cylinders but would not think that is nearly as likely simply because the relatively larger size of lines, fittings etc. in that part of the system.

Do you have quick disconnects on your hoses ?

If so, remove and reconnect them.

Very good advice. Don't know why I always forget about those buggers! Do as Will suggests and disregard my misguided thoughts until you have eliminated the easy stuff.
I will bet that Will is right on the money with this one.

Thanks - I'll try those things - If I take the cover off the control valve, will fluid come out? I think if I have the bucket on the ground and relieve the pressure, maybe not much will come out?

Taking the cover off won't cause anything to leak.
Quick connects are notorious for not seating well and thus can cause problems. Trace the line from the tilt cylinders and disconnect the Quick conn. and then put it back on ( you may have to bleed a little fluid off to relieve the pressure, it makes it much easier to reconnect sometimes). If that doesn't make a difference, try it again.
I really think Will is right on this one.
