A good thing to have in your first aid box that is in your pickup is a few kotexes. Think about it, they are clean, indivudually wraped and will absorb a lot of blood in case of injury.

the regular kind.. no wings needed.
Don't do like a friend of mine did.... he cut his arm pretty good, took the kotex out, pulled the stickey strip of and pressed it to his wound. It did not keep the wond clean, it did not absorb the blood, but it did stick to his hairy arm real good. You should have heard him holler when we yanked it of his arm.
His wife nearly fell in the floor with laughter when she learned that he put it on backwards.

Here in sunny southern California, we all carry a few tampons in our car's first-aid box. They work real well on the bullet holes from the drive-by shootings.

Hey the stuff works.

One time I cut the heck out of my finger.... nothing to put on it but one of my moms maxi pads...

It worked!

Worked with a logger in Alaska, and he carried one sanitary pad above the headliner in his hard hat, just in case of a chainsaw cut.

Also, showed me the idea that a maxipad on the forehead stuck to the hardhat headliner makes a great 'sweat' band ('cept I sweat more than that!).

For hunting.. I use a tampax for a scent drag.. already has a string to tie it to your shoe.
