Deutz-Allis 912H
I have a 1987 Deutz -Allis 912H that got to using a lot of oil and smoking so I took it apart to rebuild. The bore was wore out beyond the maximum allowed for a 12 hp so I had it bored for a standard K321 (14hp) piston. I stumbled across a a site the other day that says that size piston should not be used with the K301 crank because of balance issues and yet I've read where others have done it with no issues so I'm a little confused on the subject. Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks

compare the piston weights, Is ithe replacement 5% heavy, or 10% or????

"balancing" a single is still somewhat a black art. Perhaps a but of "relieving" could get the new piston SWN the weight of the old.

Well, I'll have to do some weighing. Got all the machine work done and was getting ready to assemble when I stumbled on to that information. My Kohler manual makes no mention at all of there being differences in cranks.
