knocked out of gear

By show of hands.. who here has pulled out into an intersection and then promptly knocked their tractor out of gear accidentally and sweated it a moment as you tried to figure out why you weren't moving and blocking 4 lanes

Did it yesterday on my 7610s pulling out of the road my pasture is on, crossing a couple lanes.. made it all the way into the intersection when I looke dback over my shoulder to check the mower and curb I was rounding ( median ) and left knee musta nudged it out.. I felt it rub.. but..

The first time I did that I was 15. I worked for my Grandfather doing custom hay work in the summer.
Ferguson 35 w/ New Holland bailer behind it, tried to shift on the fly to cross 2 lane old highway. Had to stop to get it back in gear, dam that logging truck looked big coming at me !

Hydro popped out of gear on a boat ramp once. No sweat at all, the water was pretty cool.

When I was tadpole knee hit shifter on 8N Ford pulling wagon of fire wood,not much traffic on state road at the time..whew..seem I was in slow motion grabbing throttle shifter pushing pedals....oohhhh those Halmark moments.

i'm guilty of starting in second gear as i get moving i push in the clutch,put it into third release the clutch hear the engine rev as the tractor slows and here a god awful noise and realize that i pushed the FEL lever into the float position and never got out of second:ashamed:

What about thinking its outa gear but when you pop the clutch, the tractor pushes the back wall of the shop in. Ended up being the last time my dad let me drive the tractor for a few years.:laughing:

BTDT almost. I got a couple tractors that shift real easy.. and when puylling OUT of 2nd you sometimes go right into rev, and then you let theat clutch up and back she goes!!!
