Holy Mackeral!

My sweet corn just made it to knee high yesterday, which is better than usual. I had it side-dressed with a high N fertilizer, we are having a little heat wave recently and I watered it good. It's doubled in size the past two days.

That's good looking corn.

Good pic , I was going to do the same thing but it was raining this morning. I think that corn even has a slight jump on ours.

Zythinl -

I recognized the NW Ohio terrain :) Grew up around Bowling Green. My wife is from south of Wooster - where they have curved roads, hills and other silly things :D My corner of the state was always a bit too flat to her taste.

I always like getting back in late summer to see the fields, which look huge compared to here. That is one of sights and feelings that will always be like 'home'. There is just no sound like a steady breeze moving through corn.

Dave.

We've had a tremendous amount of rain this year. The corn looks pitiful. It wasn't knee high by the 4th of July this year. It's usually 6-7' tall by now.

My corn is all yellow and only about 8 in high. Not sure what is wrong. I think it got too much water and the soil might be missing something. I have to find a place to test it. I use lots of compost as I have a big pile I rot down of grass and leaves and that goes in the garden every year and gets worked into the soil. It has been in the ground since the May 24 weekend and only grown 8 inches. Oh well I am glad yours is so good.

Oregon has been sooooo wet til recently, couldn't plant.
I think we had 2 inch starts as of the 4th. Now it is going to be 90 deg for at least a week. One extreme to the other, but I will take the sun!!
