KK 4\' brush mower/JD2305

Looking to hookup a 2305 JD with a 4' King Kutter brush mower. I have about 3-4 acres of spring grass and weeds I need to mow frequently. Any owners using this KK?? One dealer said its a cheap mower with hard to locate parts. Personally, I didn't buy it. Professionally, I don't know. Hoping some of you have purchased one.

I bought a 5' KK a few weeks ago. The book that came with it lists all the part numbers for 40" 40HP through 7' 80 HP models. My local TSC has spare blades in stock and told me they can order anything else that may break on it. Book shows they have a 1 yr. limited warranty.

I have had a 5' KK brush mower for about 5 years with no issues . I recently changed the blades and the bolts were hard to get off to say the least . I've went thru some heavy stuff over that time . I think I paid about $499.00 when I got it .

Re: KK 4\' brush mower/JD2305

I have a 4-ft KK brush hog (the yellow one, not the orange one). Just finished mowing about 7 acres of weeds. Slow going since the weeds were up to 5 feet tall in places from all the rain we've had up here in the North Valley the past 4 months. Didn't dare take the Kubota B7510HST into the field until we had a week of sunny days to firm up the soil. And that didn't happen until last week.

No problem cutting this stuff if you take it easy. It took me about 11 hours to finish the job. Had to go slow to avoid the gopher holes and the red fox holes that were lurking in the weeds. And my place is grazing land that looks flat but is actually quite rough. My rear end still aches from bouncing around on that (ill-designed) Kubota seat.

The KK just hums along at 540 rpm. I set the top link so the rear of the mower was about 2 inches higher than the front. This cuts the weeds once rather than mulching them (which you can do by reversing the tilt of the mower). But mulching takes more engine HP.

BTW: the nuts on my BH blades appear to be tack welded to the bolts. Came that way from KK. Maybe that's why you had a tough time removing yours.
