Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Kiohio, depratt, virgil, tractorhill,

As a customer this is what attracted me to kioti, competition, capitalism and being open about pricing. But now you say you want to be like the top-3 and hide pricing... sad. Who does this benefit the most, dealers or TBN members? These forums are primarily for consumers, not dealers and should remain that way.

When I purchased my CK20, I used the internet for every possible and reasonably located dealer and then made the phone calls... whatever was said here actually made little difference when it came time to purchase, other then what price range I should expect.

If that's what it means to be like the Top-3, then count me out. When dealers start to make the rules then we lose.

This is not meant to be rude or anything of that nature. Just my 8 cents.

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

I agree with Dewave about the pricing. Dealers are on here, if you can't compete, sorry. But it's a help to buyers and if they want to pay shipping from someone who'll give them a better deal, GREAT. I bought mine without trying to get a price from someone on here. Maybe I could have saved a little money. John

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Im not saying that dealers should not contact the customer if they have a good deal. I just don't want to dealers start lowballing and cutting the throats of other dealers to make the sale, and I don’t like seeing dealers advertise their business every time someone ask about a price, or ask a question in general about a tractor. I feel if dealers are going to give the customer a price they can do it in a private message. Also because of Kioti's new Dealer Agreement they prohibit the posting of dealer’s prices on the internet. I too feel this is forum is for the customers and if it is to stay that way dealers need not be posting prices and making comments about how they can beat his or their price. If they want to make the potential customer aware they can do it in a PM. Just my opinion.

Muhammad,

Sorry, I didn't mean to hi-jack your post.

dewave;
congratulations on your 12 years, and I got a bang over your "lot size".
I have done 26 of them... does it ever get easier?
Looking forward to the new catagory on this forum, and the new machines just over the horizon. Are we going to put the hurt on the big 3 or what!!!

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Virgil,

26!!, at first I thot you meant 26 wifes, omg, /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif then I had to read my bio again, phew. But now your telling me my next 14 years won't get any easier, /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Just Kidding, I have great wife, she let me get my tractor so she can't be all that bad. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As for the dealers on here, they are a much appreciated wealth of information. Their presence in these forums is something the other brand forums do not have and that helps to make Kioti and this forum unique. In all fairness to dealers after I purchased my CK20, I would not tell the price unless they PM'd me. However I did disclose it later when I thot one member was been taken advantage of, oops.

I wish I could see the look on some peoples faces when we get the new category. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Top-4 here we come!

PS. Dealers, I need all the 50 hour maintenance filters delivered to my door. Can one of you dealers hook me up. PM me. Is that better? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Don,
There is no problem with you posting what you paid for your tractor.
I want to see what owners paid for their machine and attachments.
I want to see what the machine can or can not do.
I want to see what owners think of the tractor/attachments
I want to see dealers here giving advice and recommending differant options.
I want to see dealers being here if new buyers or current owner needs help and letting us know of new products that may be coming.

But I don't want the forum to turn into a constant bidding war between dealers at every post. I agree with the others, thats what E-mails and Private messages are for.
No offence to anyone here. I happy to see how much the Kioti section of the site has grown since I've been here.

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Vince,

I agree with everything that you've said. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

To be perfectly honest, many times I've wondered why a moderator hasn't stepped in and mentioned something to the dealers who have been pushing their products on TBN. And I'm not just talking about Kioti dealers. There have been other dealers in other forums on an occassional basis too.

As a customer, I do appreciate hearing what the dealers have to say about the specifics of a particular tractor or implement. I tend to think that we're getting information right from the horses' mouth, so to speak.

But when it feels like a sales pitch, rather than an exchange of information, I get upset at that. I don't mind it when the dealer identifies himself as a dealer. But if I want to get a quote or if I choose to pursue some kind of an arrangement, I'll contact the dealer privately to discuss it. These public discussion forums were not created for doing business! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Garry, just a few thoughts in regard to your comment:

1) Anytime you see something you don't think should be there, you can click on the "notify moderators" button at the bottom of the post
2) The forum is so popular and has so many posts that the moderators may not have time to read all of them, and I think that's the reason for the "notify moderators" button
3) The Terms of Service prohibits advertising without the permission of Tractorbynet.com
4) It obviously costs money, as well as time and effort, to provide this forum that so many of us like so much
5) Some of the dealers do have the permission of TBN because they are PAYING for that privilege and that keeps it free for the rest of us
6) I, for one, am glad those dealers support TBN, both with their money and with their knowledge.

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Bird,

Please don't misunderstand me. I too am glad for the dealer support to TBN. I recognize how improtant they are to its' success.

I also understand that I can notify a moderator anytime I feel strongly about something. I guess in most of the instances that come to mind, what ever was being said was borderline, and I figured that either I was being a little too picky, or the line hadn't been crossed as far as violating any TBN policies.

I also recognize how busy the moderators must be, and that they can't be in all places at all times. I think if you review my record as it pertains to the moderators, you'll see that I am a huge fan and supporter of what they do for TBN. I certainly do not want to add additional problems that are not warranted.

I guess I would like a bit of a clarification, though. You state ( Some of the dealers do have the permission of TBN because they are PAYING for that privilege ....), meaning that they do have permission to advertise here. I understand and agree with that. But do the advertising privledges apply to the discussion forums themselves? Or are the priveldges only for the banners and pop ups that we see? I really don't know.

As was mentioned in an earlier response, I have no problem with any dealer, whether they advertise on TBN or not, mentioning that they are a dealer and that if an individual wants to contact them privately, they would be happy to work with them. Many of the dealers that do advertise have done this in a very acceptable, professional manner. But there are some others, and I will not mention any names, that in my opinion , cross the line and blatantly advertise their dealership in the middle of a thread.

Again, these are my opinions. And I want all the dealers to know that I appreciate their involvement and insightful responses. Their participation has, without question, provided countless solutions for people looking for help, whether with a particular problem, or with the purchase of a new tractor.

I apologize for getting this thread off track. I guess I can at least offer that we kept tractors as part of it! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Garry, I'm no expert, probably ought to just let Muhammad answer, but as far as I know their advertising privileges do apply to the discussion forum as well as the banner ads, but I don't think we have any pop ups, do we?

Yeah, I guess you're right there. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well, if the advertisers can advertise in the discussion forums, then I owe them an apology and then I guess I'll just fade away quietly, cause my size 10 1/2 won't let me say anything anyway! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

We allow advertisers to solicit business in the forums to some degree. Obviously there is a limit, and we have had to tell some to cut back the ads a bit.

We keep the list of current advertisers fairly up to date if you ever need a reference point... http://www.tractorbynet.com/site/advertisers.htm

Muhammad,
I've been out of it for a few days. I just checked in and what do I see? Kioti will /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif get it's own category. I think this is a great idea like many other respondents do. The only thing better than this will be when I get to post about my own tractor purchase.

Re: Kioti\'s Own Category

Muhammad

Thanks for being proactive and including Kioti under its own category soon. I do not mind competition within the posts. The cost information lets me know if I am in paying to much. I will usually support the local dealer unless he is not reasonable in price, attitude, or service. Being cost competitive is what has caused me to start looking at the this brand.
