Sure. But the limiting factor is how much less curl can you live with? Increasing the
moment arm (distance betw the force and the pivot) multiplies your force, but the
range of motion is less.

Also note that increasing your breakout force this way will also put a greater induced load
on your loader boom and its hyd cylinders.

I understand what you're saying on range of motion, but I would think the opposite would be true in regard to stress on the machine. It would seem like the loader cylinder, arms, and hydraulics would actually be working easier with a higher pivot point... Less resistance during the curl motion, compared with having it low on the quick attach plate.

If you can increase any force by increasing the leverage, that higher force has to be resisted by
the loader boom.

By increasing the breakout force with my homemade bkt forks, I can now lift over 2000# near the
ground, using the curl function. That weight is certainly a higher load on my loader boom and
boom cylinders.

With all things equal, considering one would be curling the same amount of weight, wouldn't it be easier and less stressful for all mechanical components involved, if the curl cylinder was pinned higher (for leverage) ?

If you lifted the same weight and only changed the bucket pin spacing for the curl cylinders, then
the only elements that would endure less stress would be the bkt cyls and where they attach at
both ends. The ends of the forks or bkt that lifts the weight would endure the same stresses
either way.

But of course, everything will not be equal in the real world: the loader gets operated to relief
quite often when digging dirt or lifting with forks. The additional leverage allowed by increasing
bkt pin spacing increases the force limits where the FEL acts on the load.
