Hi All,

I've recently sold my worn JD 4410 and am looking to replace it. I'd like my replacement to have R1's, a Cab and a FEL.

It seems for the money it would be hard to beat a new Kioti or Mahindra. I'm looking at these 2 primarily (they cost as much as others used). Does anyone have any pros/cons or comparisons between the 2?

They prices I've initially been quoted are relatively close. The Mahindra 2565 so far looks the most attractive to me. The Kioti dealer would have to order the RX. I would consider an Kioti NX too but it seems for about the same price you could get the bigger tractor.

I'll use this on my 110 acre farm to mow, till, spray, remove fencing, remove hedge trees, etc. Possibility of doing hay with it in the future.

I have a Kioti RX7320. This is the only tractor I have ever had or driven and I only have 60 hours on it, so take that into consideration. We love it. And I say we, because my wife has had more seat time in it than I have.It is very strong and very comfortable

I have read mixed reviews on the Manhindras, but no personal experience.

I have the RX6620 and could not be happier. It has done everything needed with power to spare and excellent fuel economy.
Like Woodchuck, this is also my first tractor. My wife has also spent many hours in the drivers seat building our new barn and had no problems.

As a first time tractor buyer/owner I am happy with my smaller Mahinder 1538 shuttle but the dealer was a large part of the equation for me. I figured the dealer is a necessary part of after sales support so I recommend you factor that into your decision as well. Almost everyone is building good machines and cost difference is relatively minor these days so brand is not as large a part when it gets down to the short strokes, but cost of ownership should weigh in somewhere. Regardless of initial cost even the best machine can be worthless if it's not supported well unless you plan to put it on a pedestal and look at it instead of using it like a tractor should be used.
So how come you're not replacing it with another deer since you just sold one?

green paint is very expensive. a used comparable JD is about the same price as a new kioti/mahindra.

I recently purchased a 2555 open station tractor and couldn't be more happy. I considered the 2565 cab but couldn't justify the extra cost. It is a very nice tractor, but the cost wasn't worth it for me. The 2555 has done everything I've asked, and my tasks are similar to yours. I recently removed a few hundred feet of fencing with the FEL, and it worked great. I personally like the 5 year warranty from mahindra as well as how they met tier 4 compliance.

Any of the tractors mentioned would work well. Go sit in the seats, get quotes, and ask lots of questions at the dealers.

I love my PX and was going to order the RX but this was on the lot. I m not unhappy in byway. I would say go sit in them and drive a few. That helped me a lot to see what fit the best.

Make sure you check who is really making the tractor. Mahindra sells great machines, but only manufactures about half of their line. The other half are made by TYM, which is a quality manufacturer. But you can buy the exact same TYM tractor for a few thousand less than the Mahindra. The only difference is the engine - TYM uses Yanmar engines while Mahindra uses their own.

Personally, if I hadn't been on the wrong side of a tractor and dealer nightmare in the past, and been supremely grateful to one who came to my rescue *cough*Dave*cough* I would not appreciate how important the dealer really is. They can make or break your next few tractor owning years, so choose wisely.

That said, my RX has been good thus far, although I haven't done many of the tasks (mow till) wango tango will be asking of it. Has it been fault-free? No. Have the faults been sorted without hassle? Yes. Were they major? No (loader valve replaced - was a bit sticky, headlights blowing fuses - wires shorting).

If you read the respective brand-specific forums for Mahindra and Kioti, you should be able to get a reasonable idea about the tractors. But, please, do some digging on the dealers you are looking at too. That's so critical, in my opinion.
