Kioti Power Loss Continued...

So I thought I had it figured out and changed all the fluids, filters and etc. However the problem still persists and I have been able to narrow down more details as I experiment with different things. So this is a 2014 DK45 SE with a cab and FEL. For 10 years I have been spraying the same vineyard rows using the same CIMA sprayer attached to the 3 pt and powered by the PTO. Earlier this summer I started to experience sudden drops in power with the PTO engaged at 540 RPM (2500 RPM engine speed) when going uphill, if I stopped forward motion the engine and sprayer would rev back to full RPM but step on the accelerator and she'd bog right down again nearly to a stall. So those are the symptoms.

Now since then we have changed out all the fluids and filters including the air filter. I have also tried numerous tests including running the tractor at 2500 RPM and running up and down the rows in both low and medium speed setting all while having the sprayer (turned off) on the 3pt. We have also hauled 1500lb loads of fruit on the FEL loader (no PTO). Driven the tractor in all speed settings at various speeds on flat ground and hills (no PTO). Ran tractor parked with sprayer and PTO on at full RPM. PTO and sprayer on driving downhill. PTO and sprayer on driving very slowly (<1 mph). Results from all these tests have not shown any lugging or loss of power.

The only test that seems to create the loss of power is if I have the PTO engaged and then both on flat ground and going uphill if I am moving forward at say 2-3 mph. I randomly experience this power loss and nearly to a stall where if I stop forward motion or turn off the PTO the power comes back. Really have no freaking idea at this point and not going to bring it to a dealer just to have them tell me there is nothing wrong. Help I need to spray for spotted lanternflys before they kill the vineyard.

Probably problem with the sprayer dead heading when pumping for one reason or another.

What do you mean with sprayer dead heading? Never heard it put that way....

Did you test with different PTO implements or just the sprayer?

The sprayer is the only heavy user of the PTO at full RPM. Other implements I have run far slower RPMs and I doubt would cause the same issue...

Does it sound like the engine is laboring or over loaded when the engine RPM’s drop? If yes is there some condition when sprayer pump is trying to build more pressure than normal consuming more HP? That is what bullrog is referring to by “dead heading”.

No pretty much it just drops out, but there is one more thing to tweak on the sprayer,,,there is a screen filter inline with the pump and I should make sure thats clean and then just run plain water and see if the power fall off happens...maybe will try that tonight if I can get to it before dark.

If just dropping out I would suspect something more electrical or fuel related but no clue on what type of fuel delivery system that tractor engine has nor how or if some electrical control can limit engine RPM on that model.

Possible interaction on ePTO to throttle command?
