By Memory: Yes. that is what I believe mine looks like also.

Now back to the color thing, Island, I would call your color on those lower parts dark gray, NOT black.. do you agree?

There are grey painted parts attached to the transmission (grey) but if you look at the bottom of the photo, there is a clearly black chassis frame piece 1/2x3" solid steel. That black part is what is grey on the newer tractors. It is also a stepped or zigzag series of bends on the newer machines while mine is a straight piece of steel front FEL mount to rear axle. See photo below for side view on the right side of the black piece and the mount on the FEL post. Those black pieces are different on the newer tractors. They are grey and not straight.

I see your point now, I will try to take a picture at some point in the daylight, and I am pretty sure mine are dark gray.

Hey guys.

I have a 2010 and it is the "new" charcol grey. I saw a left over 2009 DK45SE HST @ brownies in Nelsonville last fall. It was the "light grey" model but had a new "charcol grey" KL401 attached to it.

When I looked at it, the dark grey looked "black" in contrast to the light grey.

What IT is describing is odd to say the least. Wonder what happened there???

Oh, I bought a can of the charcol grey from the dealer. As it should, it is a perfect match.

I repeat: I think Coyote looked at the photos of my older DK40se which does indeed have a black chassis frame.

I can also testify that my eyes agree with Murphy's and that his chassis frame is grey.

I'm starting to feel like a diplomat or mediator! Or maybe like a Mother: you boys cut it out!:laughing:

My original post in this thread was asking if anyone knew what the new black that replaced the former grey was as an aftermarket paint color. Some call or see the new color as grey, albeit dark grey, and others like me see it by comparison to the light grey as black in color. It is not midnight black, but it sure as heck isn't grey like a battleship either.

Murph, Your tractor is just that - yours. Keep it west of the Atlantic; hopefully as close to the Pacific as possible...:laughing:

Now I'm confused? Are you saying the new dark grey, almost black Kioti paint color on the lower part of the DK's is Rustoleum 7784-830? If so, where did you get this info? I did not see it in this thread, or possibly I missed the reference?

I posted it in post 5, but I did not say that it was for sure that color, I just said another member MtViewRanch said he used it for Kioti to match his hydraulic cylinders he sells.. How close it matches I don't have a clue.. I check the tractor again when I got home to-nite, and it is definitely NOT black on all of the lower parts.. and they are all the same charcoal gray color, not some of them black and some gray like Island's

All we need to do is take something with the different colors to an auto paint facility that has the computer for color matching and get the mix needed and post it and what the color names are...

Just my :2cents: worth..
