I'm having a hard time engaging my pto.I've heard that this is a two stage clutch.When I press clutch pedal down to engage the pto it grinds and won't go in.I end up turning tractor off put the pto in gear then start machine to run my mower.Any help would be appreciated.Hoping for a manual for fathers day.Thanks Ken

The clutch linkage is adjustable...it's under the left footrest. There is an inspection plate on the right side of the transmission. You want ~.010-.012" clearance between the clutch fingers and the throw-out bearing. I used a long piece of metal of correct thickness as a "feeler gauge", since the bearing is a good 8" in, and I was afraid of dropping a regular feeler gauge down inside the transmission. Don't go by pedal freeplay alone.

BTW, the manual has it backwards as to which way you adjust the linkage to increase/decrease free play. If I'm not mistaken (it's been a couple years since I've adjusted it) lengthening the rod decreases the freeplay.

I didn't have any luck with adjusting pedal free play.Still grinds going into gear.(pto)So now I will have to go into the side cover to adjust pressure plate.I've heard that with the loader mount on this isn't an easy job to do.Do I need to remove the loader mounts?
