No electrical power when I turn the switch, nothing, no lights on the panel. Checked battery, fuses and they are fine. Any ideas as to the problem?

Check to be absolutey certain the ground is making connection at the frame.

Make absolutely sure your terminals are clean and tight.

I'd check the key switch to make sure it is functioning.

Check the battery for voltage with the key on and off.

Check the Slow Blow Fuse on the wiring harness near the starter. Not sure when you say you checked the fuses that you also checked the slow blow fuse. It will shut you down.

If it is blown, check all the wiring harnesses for a possible short to ground.
