I have a 2018, bought in 19 DK5510 shuttle shift tractor. It has 162 hours on it now and it just did its second regen. Now I know some will say I just missed it, trust me I did not. I’m the only operator and when it regens the dash light comes on and motor goes into a limp mode. Did it first at 70 hours then just a couple of weeks ago at 160 hours. Don’t use it much just for food plots and collecting firewood using the grapple, also keeping my gravel road in shape and flail mowing a couple of fields. Is this normal regeneration times?

My DK4510 Manual Shuttle had its first regen at 38 hours, then second at 66 hours. First was more noticeable than the second (more smell with first) but still would be hard to miss. Definite change in engine pitch but chugged right along mowing the pasture.

Puzzled by your comment about dash light and "limp mode". I get the "normal" regen dash light but performance is same. What are you referring to as limp mode?

Acts like a loss of power, not much but I do notice. Dash light comes on to regen then you idle down hit the regen switch and it revs up and runs for 30-40 minutes and goes back to idle.

Why do you idle down to hit the regen switch? The light comes on only to tell you that it is going into regen. I have never hit any button, I just let 'er rip. You should keep working at PTO speed or increase to 2600 or let ECU take care of it. Maybe you have been cancelling the regen?

EDIT: The manual is not very clear but there is a distinction between the "DPF Regeneration Underway" and "DPF Warning" lights. The first says to keep RPMs above 1,500. The second (warning) is where it says to park in and do manual regen.

Doesn't Kioti also do passive regens, when only a lamp on the dash illuminates, but otherwise there is nothing different while operating the tractor? I thought they all did that.
On mine (JD), there are 2 different lamps indicating a regen. One shows it is doing a (passive) regen; e.g. continue using the tractor as normal. Easy to not notice that. Parked regen is when it will illuminate an additional lamp(icon), show a message on the dash, and require the brake to be set and the trans in neutral. Nobody would miss seeing that, but if your engine speed was already above 1500, a passive could go un-noticed.

That being said, I have read of others who's tractors seem to do regens every 75 to 100 hours, so you may be absolutely correct that it has only done 2.

The instruction sticker on my tractor says to idle down then hit the regen switch. Mine apparently is a different system than yours. Maybe because of motor size a different tier?

Have you read the Operator's manual? The HP difference is strictly software, the engines are the same. Again, there is a difference between "DPF Regeneration Underway" (automatic/passive) and "DPF Warning" light where it was unable to perform the active or passive (auto) method.

When my dash light comes on you have to manual regen according to the information sticker. Ours are apparently different stickers.

This might be worth a read... stickers may not give a full picture.
