If you work or mow in brush I would be concerned about knocking one off.
They do stick down much farther than a drain plug.
I have one on my pickup and it works well, but I never put one on my tractor for that reason. Concerned I would knock it off.

I love having one on my diesel truck too. Makes oil changes so much easier and cleaner... but I agree with ^^^ it would be sticking straight down from the bottom of my tractor and I just know I'd damage it or lose it while brush hogging. I'd only do it if your drain plug is well above the bottom of the tractor, but I've not seen one like that.
