Hello Everyone,
First post on here and I have a question. Earlier today I was using my tractor and noticed there were two missing bolts on my front steering unit. Not sure what the front drive/steering mechanism is called, but the bolts sat the top of the unit, right below the tire rim. I took the tire off to tighten the loose ones and replace the missing ones and the bolt snapped (all the others had sheared off) and the lower section of the unit dropped and was being held up by steering hydraulic cylinder.
I tried pulling it back up, into place but it won't budge. I took the castle nut off the steering link and can't get the threaded part pounded out.
I pulled the hub off to lighten it up but still am unable to get the whole unit off. Once off I will bring it to a shop to have broken bolts removed.
Any suggestions on how to get the steering link out? I sprayed it with penetrating oil and am leaving it sit for the night. Am I missing a step in removing this?
thanks for any help
