I purchased a new alternator and this has not solved the problem. I have 12v at the main power post on the alternator, there is 12v applied to the red wire when I turn on the key. Looking at the diagram, the second red/striped wire appears to go through the diode and through the dash light. Not sure what reading I'm suppose to get there or if the wire harness might be at fault. I see no damage and the fuse is good. Any ideas????

Thanks
Joe

Thanks for the welcome. I will have to look through the site a little better so I can follow your suggestion.

Thanks. Is it as cold and snowy there as it is here?

:cool:I know that from other members on this site an ignition switch problem sent me and my Kioti DK90 away from the altenator to the igntion switch. shot of WD40 in the keyhole while cycling the switch on and off without depressing the clutch cured the problem. This is a great site with helpfull members. A great thing about help. Pass it on. Something so trivial could save a member from the dealer wolves.

I did check to see if I was getting the 12v at the alternator when the key switch was turned to the start and then run position, that was good. I will try your squirt of wd-40
