Is the 90hp "new" tractor the DK90? That is already available in SouthEast Asia. DK75, 80 and 90 are all the same except for engine. They look, not surprisingly, like larger versions of the DK65. DK 90 photo DK90 specs

( Wait a minute, isn't that what Kioti is all about? Loaded up tractors for less price than the competitors strippped down version? )

Doesn't seem so around these parts. Just can't give Kioti serious consideration when their prices are right up there with the more well known brands. Then there's the support issue, and the resale issue out here. It's too bad, because I really like a lot of the features and specs of the CK30, but I'm a bit gunshy. I've never seen a Kioti anywhere in Colorado or Connecticut since I first heard about them in the early 90's, except for on one dealer's lot out here.

What? No factory cabs for the CKs? Alas, my prayers still go unanswered. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Good thing it was a unseasonably warm winter.
On the other hand... New 35 and 40 hp hydros. Woo-Hoo! Can't wait to see them! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (Hmmm, wonder if they'll have a cab for them.)

Hello Bandit, i have to be honest with you, there are no Compact Case dealers by me here in Albany NY area as well.. Ive never seen a compact Case tractor here ever, and i worked here construction for 25 years.. And nothing against your tractor, but some tractor brands just havent made it to all parts of the country.. I have just about every color tractor brand their is in my area, some of the so called ma and pa dealers happen to be the big 3 brands that you referred to. My Kioti dealer is as good as youll find in any brand. If you are serious about your statement about being interested in the Kioti Ck30 , ill tell you first hand its one heck of a tractor, and with a 4 year warranty, id say Kioti has put their money where their mouth is...

In my opinion, Kioti and at least some of the dealers are missing the boat. I love the 45s but I'm not paying JD or Kubota price for Kioti. I'm buying a new tractor this Spring and the 1st dealer that meets my criteria gets my $$$'s.

A tractor is out there for me and when I find it - I'll know it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

4Sarge,

I think you have identified one of the issues with Kioti pricing: "some" of the dealers are running very small relatively unsophisticated businesses and may well not be pricing to the market. There are other Kioti dealers, some well represented on this board, who seem to get the big picture in knowing how best to compete with Kubota and JD. Kioti is still a second tier manufacturer in the US market and therefore needs to be price competitive to sell against the big three. I don't see any reason why Kioti's should not be discounted by the same percentage from list as the other orange tractors or JDs. If that were the case, Kioti offerings would still pretty clearly beat their competition on price.

If you are not getting a good price on a Kioti, try another dealer. Obviously that is true for other brands as well but my impression is that it is particularly the case with Kioti right now.

What kind of discount are the others doing off of list?

The following statements have to do with what dealers pay for equipment:
The problem is that every manufacturer sells their units to the dealer for different discounts.

One brand may do a flat discount acrossed the board, the other do a flat plus a declining discount.
Some do a flat, then a discount based on last years volumn, then possibly another discount off of that, or even a flat, plus a declining plus a bonus for selling a certain model. Models they may want to clear out or are overstocked on.

I would LOVE it if all brands had the same discount etc, it would make things alot simpler.

It is widely varied in the industry.

Unfortunenately it isn't all that cut and dry when it comes to discounting a unit off of list.

Sometimes implements are discounted differently, sometimes they are the same as the tractor discount.

So for dealer "A" to give a 15% discount off of his brand and dealer "B" to give 15% discount off of his brand, it may be 2 very different amounts of money to the dealer.
Programs change to the dealer all the time.

1st Tractor Purchase but from what I see, it's the Used Car Dealer Mentality - "How much can I take you for?" at many dealers. I realize that they are in a business to make money but actually do not need to make it all from me on 1 sale.

Tractor dealers are spread out geographically and it makes it difficult to traverse the highways to find a compatible dealer.

I was on the phone with an out of state Kioti dealer and thought that things were going well until he started talking about dealer prep & transportation charges. Instant turn off for me.

I was offered a fair price on a K45s but with Ag tires which I cannot use plus I would have transport charges that I am willing to pay.

So, if there is a Kioti dealer with a K45s FEL, QA, Ind tires, within a reasonable distance that has a K45s that they would like to sell at a fair price - I'm willing to listen.

Kiohio,

I see your point. I think the issue here is that Sarge and I are purely consumers, not involved in the intricacies of the tractor retailing business. From my perspective, it is difficult to see why I should be expected to pay a retail price for a tractor or just a few percentage points less when I can see on TBN that some of the bigger brands are routinely discounted by 10-15% or more. I can understand that from a dealer's perspective it ain't that simple. From the consumer's side, it is confusing because we do not have the cost basis information that you work with and we know from other industries (automobile for example) that without such information we are essentially at the mercy of the dealer. I don't really know what a "great" price is for a new Kioti DK45. That situation typically raises a price conscious consumer's anxiety and is likely to push us to focus on things like percentage discount, especially when we're talking about a value brand like Kioti. I don't know if some of the smaller dealers are working on the assumption that they can earn a living by selling a dozen tractors a year at full retail. I'd rather work with a dealer who does sufficient volume that he/she can afford to make me a good deal and in so doing builds a relationship that brings me back for implements, service and my next tractor. I may be overly focused on a simplistic "percentage" discount. However, I suspect that a lot of folks who buy Kiotis are doing so because they represent the value conscious wing of tractor consumers and therefore the perception of getting a good price will continue to be a bigger factor in selling Kiotis than Kubotas or JDs for the forseeable future. Bang for the buck, not devotion to a particular color is what sold me on Kioti. You can focus on the "bang" part but it would be a mistake to think doing a good job there means you don't need to sharpen your pencil to complete the the "buck" side of the equation. From my reading of Sarge's postings, it sounds like someone did a great job selling him on the bang of the DK45 but not such a hot job on other point.

Right On IslandTractor

My first and hopefully only tractor purchase because I'm hoping to buy big enough the first time. I would be a loyal service customer to a local dealer and need to buy several thousand dollars in implements. In my opinion, they are not looking at the big picture, volume. They would just as soon sit all year, sell one tractor and hope to mark it up high enough for a years profit. My 1st year output would be close to 30,000 - not bad for a hobby farmer. Yes, I've seen many tractors that start at 100,000. but sorry I don't have the need or that much cash. If necessary, I'll buy a garden tractor to get by with until I find a compatible dealer.

My local Kioti Dealer has a DK45s in inventory - won't sell it to me because he can order me one in at a higher price and sell that one - maybe - to someone else who has already looked at it. I always thought that a bird in the hand was worth 2 in the bush but he has other ideas.
