not sure what happened, but the only kioti dealer in this area just went out of business?? i had bought quite a few parts from them in the past, but had noticed their prices had started creeping up to the point i could get parts from the jd dealer for the same price.

It may be a slight hassle but other dealers can drop ship you parts right straight from Kioti. I'm sorry to hear about your dealer. What model do you have?

Up until about a year and a half ago, Kioti's were imported under the Lely umbrella. Then, Deadong decided to import directly themselves, eliminating Lely from the picture. Many Kioti dealers could not financially afford to go direct with Deadong. These dealers are just selling off existing inventory and then switching brands or going out of business. That is how I got such a smokin deal on my LK3504. I bought it from AG West in Rickreall, Oregon. They still have several Kioti's there that can be purchased cheaply. When they are gone from this dealer, there gone.

Edited 3/7/02- incorrectly stated AGCO rather than Lely

Rohne...

Can you expand on the statement...? I'd never heard of AGCO importing anything without the AGCO logo...

If they did... it was a well kept secret.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

the dealer here had been a used tractor and new equipment sales for 15+ years. i had bought JD parts from them during this time, then in the last year or 2 they started going up on their prices for parts, and started selling kioti tractors; then all of a sudden they are gone. i still have my old JD, but we lost what was at one time a very good place to buy misc. parts for about any brand of tractor.

Kioti's were distributed by Lely up until a year or so ago. Lely is how they got in trouble. Lely wouldn't stand behind the tractors, take care of warranty items, if you had enough cash to buy 2 tractors you were a dealer, etc, etc. Finally Kioti got tired of all the crap and went dealer direct. Now dealers HAVE to stock a certain amount of parts, have so many tractors on the lot, etc. Now they can move forward.

I've never heard of the AGCO thing. Not that I doubt you I would just like to have more info.

Oops- Ob1kioti got it right. It was Lely that was the importer, not agco. Memory served me incorrectly.

ahhh....John....

For awhile they did it with Landini, and Same. Neither under the Agco name, but imported, and distributed by Agco all the same.

Re: ahhh....John....

Hi Woodbeef...

You're correct... but it wasn't any "secret" and some dealer literature indicated "Distributed by AGCO"... and also posted on their website, and etc. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Landini all these years had made all the orchard/vineyard Masseys and quite a difference in price for the "Red paint job"... /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

The original Kioti distributor/reps in the US worked their butts off and got the Kioti dealer network put together... after it was set up with enough dealers in place to sustain operations... "DaeDong Korea Mother Company" came in and took over... effectively ending all dist/rep commissions/fees... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Re: ahhh....John....

hey John,

Yep,it's true that Agco made no secret of the Landini deal. They about ruined them up here when theyu brought in price pairity with Massey. I remember the 8880 mfd tractor went from 35k to almost 50k over night. When they took over the Landinis up here, the old importer went over to Valmet.

They never really pushed the Same deal though. Maybe they wanted to sell the SLH oferings as A/A and Whites instead of Sames.

Re: ahhh....John....

I like the Agco St series alot. Hope to buy one someday. It does burn me a little that they brag about their 100+ year history and the innovations from Ferguson to Min-Moline to Mf but when they introduce a compact under their name it is a repainted and rebadged Iseki instead of a product that takes advantage of their 100+ year history. I wonder what an Iseki would sell for if sold here in the states?

Re: ahhh....John....

Is the ROPS mounted to the fenders??/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif. Or am I just missing something there?

Re: ahhh....John....

Actually, yes it is mounted to the fenders and is the same way on the AGCO. I meant to ask about that at the farm show but spaced it off

Re: ahhh....John....

Maybe it's just prejudice, but there is no way I'd feel confidant with such a setup, even if someone proved that it was fine.

It was not quite as nice as you paint it BEFORE Daedong Mother Company took over.
I know! Some areas may have been A.O.K. Most were far from good. Alot of those said hard working reps were not quite upstanding citizens./w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif Parts support was very slim and most of those sales rep were seldom seen. Other Kioti dealers I've talked to were ready to drop Kioti until Daedong Mother Company stepped in. I am glad that the other reps came in and got it set up maybe the early ones were O.K. but, in the end it wasn't a pretty picture. That time is behind Kioti Now and they are dedicated to making Kioti what it was meant to be, a well built tractor at an affordable price, with good dealer support.

AGCO ST ROPS

I wonder why they mounted the newer ROPS to the fender...I have an Iseki TA 210 LandLeader, Japanese version of the AGCO ST Series (very similar, same controls and hood treatment.) or similar really to the newer Iseki TK Series... My Rops/Canopy is mounted to the rear axle with heavy duty U-Bolts ... I agree, much more ridged and structurally sound.... They should fix that because it would probably give with a good tumble...

Re: AGCO ST ROPS

Surge,
I have a MF 1250 (Iseki TK532). The ROPS just look like they are bolted to the fenders. The fenders are really sandwiched between the lower rops and the upper rops. By making them this was you can have a larger area while seated to operate the tractor.
