2015 CK3510H, WR Long bucket grapple, 4010 loader
Greetings,

I am rounding the 50 hr mark on my CK3510 that I picked up from CCR Sales and Service in Essex Jct., VT. I sent them a picture that they liked so much that they put it on their facebook page, so I figured I ought' to share it here as well.

With the WR-Long bolt on grapple installed, along with one of their tooth bars, this is a pretty mean machine. The included picture was just a quick one to send to the dealership while I reminded them about the complimentary oil filters? Glad they like it too.

So 50 hours in and I really like this machine. The tier 4 stuff does like to be run hot like everyone said, and I blocked off the radiator per suggestions on TBN so she reaches op temps in the winter. This works well, as you can see some black smoke if you run under load in very cold temperatures before the temp gauge rises at all. For instance today was the coldest weather I felt like running the tractor, and she had no problems with a 10-12 degree ambient air temperature start. I cycled the key backwards until the glow plug indicator went off, twice, then to start. I run no additives in my Diesel, as it is already a winter blend. I had the dealership install the factory extra fuel heater - This appears to be a radiator mounted device to pre-warm your fuel before the filter, to prevent clogging. No issues today running in the low teens, and she got up to temp just fine.

Kioti Hydraulic remote kit for the rear - power beyond, was complete and easy to install. From the dealership the kit was $350, and I installed it myself with no problems. Ran long hoses from Napa for the grapple in the front. Simple and it works.
KL4010 loader is strong, and easily overpowers loaded rear tires and scraper blade. A real ballast box is needed to realize it's full potential, and even then the front tires would be maxed.

Overall the machine is great, and as Kioti owners already know, you can't beat the value. I had one regen cycle run itself automatically while operating, I had to bust out the manual to decipher the gauge lamps. It runs this while you use the machine, and does not affect performance, but does make the engine sound a little strange. This occured before I blocked the radiator so that it wouldn't run cold in the lower temperatures. This rich-condition from not getting warmed up, even in the late fall, would produce black exhaust smoke and likely lead to more regeneration cycles of the DPF. I know it all sounds complicated but I like how clean these diesels run, and fuel economy is excellent - go Daedong!

Great looking machine and glad you like it as much as you do. I too am nearing almost 50 hours with my L3901. My experience with the tier 4 is similar to yours and pleased to see that the negative hype has been overplayed. Enjoy your machine!

How did you block the radiator? The Cornith area is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks, the Kubota's are nice as well. My boss has a mid 2000's era L3700 SU, which I was lucky enough to operate a little when I was tractor shopping. I like them alot, and the Kioti's borrowed some of the good design characteristics.

I pulled the mesh screen off the front of the radiator, and placed a piece of cardboard almost the whole size in there and put the screen back on. I'll document -

Corinth is beautiful, thank you. My parents are selling their house here, and their new place in West Fairlee a few towns over, is just about done. I have a small house going up over there as well, but there is much work to be done around here as well. I did the math last year, and realized I needed a tractor to optimize my time and money when land investments come into play. And my parents have been very grateful for the added muscle for all the projects!

How are you liking your tractor at this point? I looked at a CK3510H yesterday. Very impressive and really good pricing. The grapple on the bucket is a great idea.

Hi sorry for the delay, I love the machine and it still holds it's own when I see newer and older John Deere and Kubota's in the same size. The kit for the hydraulic remotes can be done yourself, and is only $350-400. I got my dealer to throw in the filters to do my 50 hr service, that is worth negotiating. I would also consider going with the CK4010, since you are already spending the money. They are identical, just a slightly different engine tune by the ECU. But I also don't think the difference is noticeable, so may not be worth it? The new 4010 loaders on both CK3510 and CK4010 tractors are great, and taking the loader arms off the tractor is a piece of cake. With the skid-steer quick attach, you can also just drop an implement to make the machine easier to handle. Definitely get filled rear tires, and an implement to plant the read end. The suspension seats that come standard are very nice, and you take it for granted immediately, but all you have to do is hop on a lawn mower on a New England lawn!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. What did you fill your tires with? The local dealer is telling he would use anti-freeze. I have heard good things about rim guard? Do you know if one is a better choice? Also the bush hog he was offering seemed to have a thin deck. I had looked at a Kodiak medium duty unit that seemed stronger. Do you have any thoughts here? We are total newbies with this.

Thanks Again,

White Cloud

MY CK3510 will be delivered by early next week. Does anyone have a estimated price on the WB bolt on grapple mentioned in the first post on this thread?

I got a Berlon 54" for $1180 instead of the WB. It was a touch choice, but I wanted to teeth on the leading edge.

Interesting that the CK3510 and CK4010 engines are Tier 4 but the CK2610 engine (3A165LWM) is spec'd with Tier 3 on the OEM's web site.
