So whereç—´ the link to the market share report. More hearsay without traceable data. Pretty sure Deere would lead in overall tractor sales, as Kubota makes no large ag equipment.

Yes they do. Where you been? Under a rock? They sell implements under the Land Pride and Kneverland names (rebadged Kubota). Tractors to 171 horsepower now.

To the OPç—´ initial question, go with your instincts and how comfortable you are with the dealer. They are both worthy tractors.

I could never understand brand loyalty. A former coworker used to b**** because he had to drive the boss' company Ford for a couple of months while the Chevy he was given was getting a new frame. What part of "They pay the bills" made it so hard?

*** Went through my quotes (with snowblower and rotary cutter), difference is 2250.... and the Kubota includes insurance (not sure about the insurance...it sounds good... but is it?)

You live in Ontario so check out Tractor Protect. Specifically designed for non-farm tractor owners who do not register the tractor as a motor vehicle, and do not use it to make money. It is affordable and provides good coverage, replacement cost insurance, 2Million liability, and $10k coverage on attachments.
They have a watered down version for New Brunswick, but it is still worth it.

171hp is a pretty small to middling tractor by 2020 standards.

It was quite large thirty years ago, though.

*** THanks, I've contacted them for more information and to better compare KTAC to Tractor Protect. At very least can use to leverage Kubota if I go in that direction. I feel there are a few dollars on the table still and hope to have a good analysis done before presenting the 'facts' to my wife.

That being said, i've already started agressively preparing the site behind current shed to have an enclosed shelter for a new machine
