Hello Sc, spray all your linkages with the White Lithium Grease. As far as going into and from 4 wheel drive, all you have to do is pull up on your 4 wheel drive lever while turning your steering wheel all the way to the left. It will fall in ever time easily, it must be synronized, Thats what my Kioti dealer tech told me. It works like a charm.. Matt

Great suggestions. I will get to try them tomorrow. I have to say that despite all this its been a good tractor other wise. Quite a step up from my 8N Ford!

Sorry it took me a bit to try the above suggestions, but turning the steering all the way to the left before trying to engage the 4WD made a big difference. It didn't hurt to luricate everything either. I did not get to try lifting the front end off the ground yet so maybe it will get even easier. It still takes a pretty good push to engage the 4WD, but nothing compared to before and it engages every time now! Much more enjoyable. THANKS!

On my DK 35 I engage/disingage the 4WD while moving. Always goes right in and out smooth and easy for me.

Just found this thread and will try these tricks soon. I also have a problem with forks leaking down rather quick. Both lift and tilt, but more tilt. Any idea's.
Thanks

Great tip there Matt. I tried it a couple times. Turned the wheels all the way to the left and the four wheel drive engaged easily.

I've also been having trouble switch to/from 2WD to 4WD. I actually pulled the knob right off one time (another inadequate Kioti part for the application). Raising the front end off the ground did help.

Today, I climbed under the tractor and lubed the linkages real good. I noticed there is this fork like pivot in the linkage that to me appeared to be the "hard" spot. After lubing I worked it back an forth, back and forth several times. Eventually it got real smooth and pretty easy to move.

I came to the conclusion that all the controls that are seldom moved should be operated over their full range every so often, and lubed throughout the process. So, that is what I did. Turned every knob and lever to full travel several times lubricating at each stop. Everything is much happier now. Will be a part of my 50 hour maintenance from now on.

Spraying lithium grease on the selector linkage really helped! It now shifts a great deal better. If only the 4wd selector worked as well! It still takes a lot of effort to engage or disengage it and lubricating it didn't make any difference. By the way mine is a DK 35. Thanks.

I had to do the same thing to the 4wd. Followed the linkage, sprayed, worked the **** out of it, sprayed, kept it up, and presto, problems are gone. I've wondered if they don't get a bit of paint in there that gums up the works.. Anyhow, works now, but I did have to do it a coupla times and work it a good bit.
