Sounds like you're on your way back. I'm happy to hear you were able to get it running and working again. Thanks for the update. John

I m glad you got your tractor back into service. On my backhoe and excavatorand all the equipment at work we use master swithes in the battery compartments to keep vistiors from messing with the machinery and to prevent electrical fires. I hope you get every thing straightened out soon.

Hello to all,
Once again its late, so a short update.
Thank You!, Jim in Omaha.
I did contact the folks in S.C. that had the 3054 that was damaged, and after several phone conversations my wife and I took a trailer to South Carolina and bought this tractor.
It was exactly what I hoped it would be, in great condition except for the broken bell housing and rear wheel housing, but with 225 hrs it looks like new.
Mine has about 2000 hrs. so my tractor will be used to fix the new one. I felt bad for the seller and hope he had insurance to help with his loss, but he was very gracious to us and was glad that we could use it.
I also bought the front end loader (Kioti brand) and am looking forward to having this new addition.

Thanks again to all for your letters.

Gene

Was there a possible silver lining in this burn out? Hmmm
Glad to hear it's a happy ending. John

Hello Kioti John,
I split the case on the new 3054 using blocks and floor jacks, it was tricky with the broken trans. housing to get it lined up for a smooth split but it worked, also removed the steering unit, I have been really Impressed how easy it has been to work on, each section is compartmentalized and so far no big problems. And you are correct, in that I will have a better tractor when all is said and done. I am considering in the back of my mind (not to my wife) pricing a new bell housing and axle housing to reassemble the original 3054, even with my jerryrig wiring it would still be a usable machine.
And to anyone considering a Kioti my experience with the 3054 has been Great, I did replace the starter about two months ago but with 4 or 5 members of my crew taking turns using the tractor, it wasn't always preheated to start, and every time they stopped, it was turned off and restarted, anyway I would recommend the Kioti to everyone.
By the way John; I found the paint issue to be very interesting and thank you for the posting.
I seem to wait till midnight to start my posts sooo its time to say, Good Morning!

Gene
