I have an older model and happened to notice the picture of their new model now has a swivelling yoke (attaches to the toplink)...so I wrote to King Kutter and they wrote right back with a part number and price:

"Yes, we offer the swivel kit for those kutters which did not originally have this. The part number is 501027--36.75 plus shipping. To order this please call our parts dept. @1-800-228-2308"

My rear finish mower has a swivelling yoke, and it tends to follow the contour of the ground better than my bush hog, so I am hoping that a swivelling yoke will reduce the amount of gouging done by the KingKutter (6' model). (the new JD and Woods bush hogs use this setup).

Gulp...! That's a pretty steep price for a piece of "U" shaped steel... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I bought a similar piece from a Bush Hog dealer (special order) and it cost me ~ $9... maybe ~~ 3 years ago... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If worse comes to worst... retrofit two pieces of flat stock steel (& spacer) with 4 holes drilled... and it will serve the same purpose... (take measurements off an existing KK piece)

I agree with John, just use 2 pieces of flat stock.
The U shaft swivel King Kutter has is to wide and will not let the pin swivel through between the arms so I ended up cutting it into flat stock anyway.

I bought the 5' model KK Rotary, and have had the same problem. The U bracket is too wide and hits the uprights from the lower 3 pt hitch pins. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I had to hammer the U part so that the legs of the U were close together so it would make it past the uprights. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Save your money and do as suggested and just make one.....

I have heard of some guys solving the problem quite sucessfully by adapting a length of chain as a toplink. The only drawback I can see to that is if you ever need to use the cutter as a wheelie bar.

On my 5' model, the slip yoke or whatever it is.. works good.. has just enough play in it to keep the mower from hanging on high and low spots...

Though i havn't experienced the clearance problem the others have with my NH 1920.. so I didn't have to modify it any.
