King Kutter tiller depth adjustment

I just bought a used KK tiller and I am having trouble adjusting the depth. Looking at it from the tractor seat, the depth skid does not seem to line up in the bottom hole due to the gear case. I can get the right side to about 6" but am limited to about 3-4 on the left side. The holes just do not line up any way I try it. What am I missing?

Just use it.

After you make a pass, the depth shoes aren't worth much anyway.
One will always be in tilled ground and going deeper and the other will be on un-tilled ground not going so deep.
you ain't missing nothin' I just set mine as low as they would go (whatever holes lined up) and went at it.

That's what I have been doing so far. I thought there might be a secret handshake that I did not know.

I agree, the depth shoes don't do much, I control the depth from seat using the 3pt lift. It is easy to even lift it up enough to just till some seeds in if you wish.

Same here, set them at the lowest depth for tilling. One is usually bent out when I'm done anyway.

If it ever becomes an issue, I'm going to weld on brackets and add gauge wheels.

Yep, me too..... Low as you can go. If you need to till deeper, till over it again.

same here except mine does line up. I assume that the side that is lower then other is supposed to be in tilled and other riding on the untilled side.

Once you get it nice and fine, the depth shoes doesnt help anyways. it just disappears in the nice soft fluffy dirt.

I set mine as low as it would go also.

I still have the crate it came with and the depth shoes give me a level place to set the tiller on the crate up off the ground so it doesn't rust up when I am done thats about it! :thumbsup:
