King Kutter finish mower problem

I have a 5" king kutter finisher mower I've had for over 20 years and its still good but It has an agravaiting problem of filling the belt cover with grass clippings. I just cleaned it out and it was a wheelbarrow load , not a hand full. I'm thinking of making a guard that would block the open part in front of the large pulley that is open. Anyone else have problem with this and have a solution. I called King Kutter thought they might have an add on, but said thats why they have the two knobs to take the belt cover off easily, or some people just leave the cover off.Ha!!

Not a King Kutter, but I removed the belt covers on my zero turn mowers for this very reason. At the end of each day I just blow the deck off.
