1938 Massey Harris 101 Or which one
I recently got a King Cutter II tiller, lots of wire wond on the shaft but finally got it all cut off. The back For lack of a better term splash panal is missing.

I would like to make one with some scrap heavy sheet metl I have but have no Idea how it is fastened across the rear.

Any one have any pictures of theirs they could show?

Thank you.

What size tiller do you have? A 1/2" rod holds the panel on and the rod is full width of tiller. You can see the end of the rod is bent on one end. The other end the rod is cross drilled for a clip. The rod goes through 3 pieces of tubing that is welded to the panel. Tubing is welded on each end of the panel and one in the center to support the rod. My 5ft tiller panel is 58.5" on top and is 65.5" at the bottom. Panel is 13" tall. Notice the end tubing pieces extend past the panel ends maybe 1".

Yes it is. It just needs to be at the very top as the panel fits close the tiller frame and needs to pivot. If you need me to pull the panel for a back view, I can.

Also, the inside diameter of the 3 pieces of tubing is plenty bigger than the 1/2" rod that passes through it. That way it will always be free to move regardless of the dirt or rust.

I take it the rod is removable why my panal was missing?

I installed it on the tractor after remove a lot of wire wound on the cutter shaft. I tilled a small patch with it. So i had the third link short tiller tilled forward. then tried it with the third link long. Seemed to work better that way?

I set mine so the tiller is level when it is at working depth. There is less wear on the u-joints that way.
