I have a hand-me-down, 1999 "Hot Line Farm Equipment Guide". It gives you some basics with some ad and auction guidelines for equipment over the last 60 years or so. It even covers serial numbers. However, it won't cover options like: transmissions, loaders, cab, and mower decks. But, it is a start.
Here is the phone number on the cover: 1-800-673-4763. I got it free, but the cover price is $59.95 in 1999.
I think that there is another guide that dealers use, but it will be in the same price range.
