Found a simple way to keep my chain with the tractor. The main tube is the cover material that goes over a 4x4 in the porch& stair railing systems, sold at Lowes& Home Depot. The piece of metal at the top over the loader bearing box and the tube is a piece of 1 5/8" unistrut available at the same places.
I chose to make mine the height of the bearing box, just a visual thing,--although you want to make sure you have the volume required for your chain, keep in mind the mounting bracket will take up some of that volume.
Cut a slot in the tube so that when the notch rest on top of the mounting bracket the tube is flush with the top of the bearing box. This slot allows the tube to fit against the bearing box along its total length.
Next cut a piece of unistrut so that it fits inside the top of the bearing box. Not too tight 1/8" loose at least.
Now you need to plug the bottom, I used a small cap for the post cover and attached it with 3/8" pan heads. You could use a piece of tin, block of wood, whatever you have.
Set the tube on the mounting bracket, press it up against the bearing box and tap the unistrut over a lip of the bearing box and the tube, your done. This tubes hold a 16'x1/2" chain no drilling, welding, or epoxy, is out of the way and with just a few taps on the bottom comes off if you want. This is on a ck3510 with a kl4010 loader, but could probably be made to work with many others.
