I looked them up and didn't realize that there was a FX and a MX. I rode in the FX.

Yes the MX is an all new 60" wide, two seat, version. Played with one at the dealership but haven't seen any reviews or talked with anyone who has one yet. All versions come with power steering, I was quoted $10,950 for a base one.

Well my friend I bought one 2 months ago so if you have any questions about the MX just ask. I do have the one with the Power Steering and love it.

Just found out from my dealer that the new Challenger MX price has gone up by 2,000.00 up here in Canada because they are sold out and hard to come by. Phew that made me feel good cause I bought mine 2 months ago. This means they are selling like hot cakes because of their new redefined Challengers series. Good sign for Cub Cadet.

K man that's good to hear and congratulations on your new Mule! My understanding is all MX's come with EPS which is one of the reasons I'm considering one. Any complaints at all even minor? What do like most?

Not familiar at all but is "Challenger MX" the same as Kawasaki's new Mule Pro MX? If so are they similiarly priced?

Sorry not sure about the pricing between the two. The reason I got the Challenger MX discussed earlier is the standard equipment that comes with the Challenger. You would have to visit both sites and compare price and difference between them.
So far my machine has been great other than a bit loud in the cab and the reason is probably cause I have the windshield and back window so you get like a tunnel effect. If I take out the back window it does quiet it down some but then you get the dust/exhaust fumes coming in. If I leave the windshield and back window out then it is great. Heard that noise in the cab is pretty normal on all machines out there. Also want to add that the MX engine is behind the seat under the dump box not under the seat like most. Other than that it has a lot of power and very comfortable to drive.

Update; I decided on selling my Ranger 500 (which I never really bonded with) then ordering a new Mule Pro MX EPS in green. Cleaned up the Polaris, put it on Craigslist Tuesday and it sold the next day. Then was informed the green MX now wouldn't be in until the end of November. When I told them I can't be w/o a side by side for month or more they said I could have the red Pro EPS LE (which comes with roof and allow wheels) for only $200 more. Well I had my mind set on the green, didn't really like the red, and didn't care about alloy wheels, but they ended up discounting the LE more (over $1,000 off MSRP) plus a free windshield (and no fees), so I'm now the proud owner of a new Mule Pro MX LE.

So far there's a lot I really like over the Ranger.... it 700cc liquid cooled single runs better, smoother, and quieter, and the Pro MS rides even smoother than the Ranger, which itself rode well. I know it's a small thing but it just sounds nicer. Drive shafts, U-joints, and the entire suspension components are more substantial looking. Has lots of storage, tie downs in the bed plus the side rails. And a true 4wd with independently selectable 4wd, hi-low range, and diff lock. The Ranger's diff had to be locked before it could go in 4wd which I never liked, plus in 4wd the front wheels didn't pull at all unless the rears were slipping, which made for squirrelly handling under some slippery conditions.
The MX has two independent sets of high/low beam headlights one halogen the others LED, tilt wheel, power steering, power outlet, and as mentioned the LE version includes the roof. I haven't run it to top speed but it's said to be 45 which is plenty fast for me, most of the time I'm on trails in low range anyway. For anyone looking for a midsize side-by-side I'd at least look at Kawa's new Pro MX series.

Thanks Cathy. Quality seems very good, the motor is sourced from Taiwan (Kymco) so I hope it's ok long term. The 3-cylinder motors in larger Mules come from mainland China and they seem to be good. Don't know why Kawasaki can't build engines for their UTV's yet supply engines for all kinds of other applications?

Kawaski uses their own engine in the Teryx

OK Teryx and probably the 14hp 400cc motor in 610's as well.

The MX got some use today mostly hauling firewood but then I took it on a longer ride over trails as well as dirt and smaller paved roads. This machine is perfect for the way I use a side-by-side, it's just small enough to fit on all our trails, but I'll be cutting 3-4 trees to eliminate what is now a tight fit. Power and top speed are more than adequate because I'm typically riding in low range on trails and 45 top speed is fine because I seldom have the need or desire to go much more than 35-40 mph on roads anyway. Really liking the power steering, smooth engagement of the CVT, compliant suspension, and storage (previous Ranger had almost none). I haven't driven it at night yet but having two sets of headlights, each with their own high/low beams, will be nice. Still getting used to having doors, I suppose they keep mud and road slop out but it's somewhat inconvenient having to open and close them every time I (or the dog) want to get in and out. Thinking I'll leave them on until late Spring then take them off in warmer weather.

After today's ride it has 13 hours so I thought I should give it a look over. Recalled occasionally hearing what sounded like a tinny resonance so I checked the bolts on the heat shield right under the bed and found two loose so that's solved. Oil was clear and right at the full line. Tires (surprised to find they are radials) were just right at 12 psi. I like that it has a sealed battery, I do need to attach an SAE pigtail for the Battery Tender though. Still waiting for the half windshield that was ordered as part of the deal and other than a rear view mirror and maybe a bed mat can't think of anything else this Mule needs.
