I am looking at buying a 2005 Kawasaki mule 3010. It wasn't running strong so the owner and I did a compression test and the rear cylinder was 100psi and the front cylinder was 50psi. He claims the compression is supposed to be 85psi but that sounds low to me. Does any one know what the compression is supposed to be?

Yes, the service manual says to run the engine until it is hot. Then, shut it off and remove BOTH spark plugs. Install the compression gage on a single cylinder and turn the engine over until the pressure gage quits rising (maximum cylinder pressure is achieved). The pressure should be 145 - 220 psi. Of course, you are not supposed to spray any liquid into the cylinders. Don't let a seller do that because it will give high readings that are false.
