Kawasaki FH680V 23 HP

I have a Kawasaki FH680V 23 HP engine that the choke linkage has come loose. After searching and finding various diagrams I have not been able to find how the linkage hooks to the carburetor. It goes on the clip but how? Thanks for any help

The hook goes in the hole on the arm and the spring loaded clip snaps over the back of the link.
