Kabota L2900

Re: Kubota L2900

Hey Knucklehead,

I'm looking at the 3710 you've been lusting after. The price seems pretty good with the cab, which I figure is worth another $1500 or so. But the conservative Maine yankee in me thinks the cab provides just too much luxury! (I'll pay extra bucks for a heavy duty accessory to pamper the trees I'm annihilating, but pamper myself???)

Where are you in the process now?? I'm itching to make a decision, although I figured I'd take the summer shopping and actually make a purchase come fall.

Any thoughts on the 3710 are welcome, I just posted my detailed current mindset on a post titled "New 3010GST or used 3710HST?" (I haven't figured out the fancy html stuff you have!). I just saw teh used 3710 today, and have not picked it over. I also figure that if you buy buy it before I make up my mind, then it wasn't meant to be (tractor karma and all that).

Ain't it wicked fun tractah shoppin??

Re: Kubota L2900

And I answered you over there, and sent a private mail asking if it was the same one. Now that I see it is, we can talk. Did you look over the 2900? I would be more interested in that, at this time. I actually bought the used one you see above. Don't know what happened to that beautiful orange paint....must be moldy, like blue cheese, huh?

But, take a gander at your private mail....see that flag up in the left corner of the menu, next to Main Menu?

And just because you buy, it doesn't mean you hafta stop shopping.

Re: Kubota L2900

Mark,

Thanks for the reponse, and the instructions on how to see your post in the private section (I'm new to this board).

Yes, it is the same beast! I didn't see the 2900, but wasn't looking for it either. Congratulations on the Ford, I have two friends with them that are very happy.

The folks at the Union Kubota dealer have a great rep, I intend to do business with them. I priced the same 3010 at the Hammond shop in Fairfield (which they could service out of their Union shop) and got a price that was so far out of line I won't be going back to them (unless I start to suspect a bait and switch at the Union Kubota folks, which would surprise me).

Gonna send the missus up to see the 3710 (we're down toward Boothbay Harbor). She grew up on a farm and knows her stuff (learned to drive on a JD). She's been hinting she'd like a tractor since we moved here 18 years ago. She did wonders here a couple years ago with a borrowed JD (totally landscaped the dooryard and driveway, plus set stone walls and the foundation drainage problem straight). She's also smart, sexy, a great mom and makes my house a home (jeez I am so lucky!!!).

I'll be dreaming tonight about that 3710 (plus the wife). I suspect I'll call the dealer and tell them to put the 3710 on hold (for my purchase) Monday, unless I have nightmares or second thoughts (i.e. come to my senses!) first.

Chuck

Re: Kubota L2900

Chuck, that would be great. I had those same dreams, only I was gonna do a new one, and decided to take a week to think. That and the fact that we gave ourselves "permission" to come back and buy new in 3-4 years helped me shake the fever. Look for that little "envelope" up in the left corner again. I'm chasing you all over this board, buddy /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif.

Did anyone tell you the prerequisite for membership here is to buy, beg, or borrow a digital camera and post pix ASAP when you buy? We all wanna ooooh and aaaah - it's just like a baby shower!

Re: Kubota L2900

appears you received a very good deal on your New L3000 -
I purchased a used L2900 w/540 hrs for $10.5k w/6' mmm (which i still ain't crazy about - i'm just a land pride finish mower junkie) i did price a fel for my machine which the dealer estimated at around $3.2k installed - my local bota dealer leans somewhat to the more expensive side of things... however, in all fairness they do provide excellent service. i certainly enjoy my new slightly used machine -
