After looking at tractors for the last 2 months, I narrowed my decsion down to 2 tractors a JD 5210 and a NH TN55. After riding and checking them out extensively the NH won my praise. I just looks better made and as aheavier steel. For example the 3 point hitch on the back of the JD looked to be about 1/2 thick while on the NH around 3/4 of an inch. I know JD makes one great tractor, because I have a riding mower in the barn. I can't wait for the NH to get here. They had to order it, because the only other TN they had was the 70 model and I could not justify paying another $1750 for the turbo. I feel as though I got a good deal. I got a new TN55S 4x4 with bigger AG tires fiberglass canopy top, front bumper, joystick, supersteer, shuttle tranny, Bush Hog 7' mower, and a woods grader blade for $20,000. He priced a new holland 32LA loader for $2500 and a Bush Hog for $2000, but I decided that I would wait. Should I just go ahead and get the loader when it comes in?

tn55, I don't know where you are or what projects you plan to do with that new tractor, but it's hard for me to imagine not having a front end loader; handiest and most used implement of all, and $2,500 doesn't sound like a bad price at all. Like I said, I don't know but I think you'll regret it if you don't go ahead and get the front end loader, too.

Sounds cheap for the loader. I would find the extra cash and get it before they change their mind.

I narrowed my searches down to the TN55 you just ordered and a TC45 identically rigged - which I'm taking delivery on next Monday. It's at the dealers waiting on me. I got the loader (16LA) when I ordered - I have to concur with the other fellas - sounds like a misquote on the price - I'd jump at it now. On the bush hog - I got a woods 600 for $1550 with chain guards - and they are generally priced higher than bush hog. It sounds like he has the loader priced too low and the bush hog too high. (assuming we're talking Bush Hog brand here)

You didn't eat too much Easter Chocolate today, did you? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I'd RUN back down to the NH dealer, tell him you changed your mind and get that TN70 FWD Turbo Charged 57 PTO HP for $1750. more! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Then get that 32LA loader for $2500.../w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Not for nothing...let me know the dealer's\saleman's name and phone number...and I'm NOT even an Iveco fan. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Up here in the NE USA, you can make $7-9K more for that unit w/loader.

Also please post the model #'s of the implements that are "thrown in" the deal... It really sounds too good to be true! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

John,

It was $2500 more for the 70 model. I will post a picture of the tractor as soon as it comes in. He said that it will be around 4 weeks for it to be delivered.

The price for the extra equipment was with a Bush Hog 236 mower and a woods grader blade. I am not real sure of the model # on the woods but it ran around $375. I did trade in an older bush hog for this new one. The only reason I went up in size so I could cut my tires out. If you want the number of the dealer send me an email and I will get it to you. One reason we got a good deal was because our family knew the owners. So I presume this helped out alot. Anyways, you can give a go at getting that TN70. He also had some 65's in 4wd and 2wd.

I'm in Upstate New York.

You can post the dealer name & phone here or email me at:

Maybe even Dr. Rich {Cowboydoc} would be interested as well, that truly is a bargain... I don't have my figures here, but it may be below dealer cost...

By the way, what price were you quoted on the JD 5210?

Thanks!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

TN55

This deal sounds too good to be true...A TN55S 4x4 and Supersteer with a blade and brush hog for $20k? That puts the tractor in at around $19k, which is a real good deal, just hope that there is not any "catches". I have a TN65 4x4 and I am very happy with it. With joystick and 3rd remote the tractor came in at $20.5k (last year) and when I shopped around that was $2.5-5k less than any of the other dealers that I priced. I think the base price was $19.8k. No problems at just over 100 hrs. However, I am concerned a little with your choice of the TN55 being under-powered for its' size. If you can swing an extra $500, I would highly recommend at least bumping to the TN65. For 5 extra HP it is cheap and you will not regret it. If had it to do over I would have found the extra $2k to bump to the TN70. The dealers around here won't even order a TN55 unless it is "sold" first. There is so little difference in price that most everyone opts for the TN65. The TN's are well built and with full liquid ballast, rear wheel weights and a loader my tractor is pushing 8k. That is a lot of weight for a 42 HP (or 47 depending on which brochure) TN55. Add a yard of wet dirt or ? in the bucket and you'll be pushing 10k, easy. If your land is flat you'll probably be ok, but you'll lug it pretty good on any slopes. 90% of the time I am satisfied with the power of the TN65, but 10% of the time I wish I had just a little more. I would also jump at the loader for $2500 except with the supersteer you need to get the 33LA not the 32LA. When I bought my tractor the 32LA was $4.4k extra. I opted for the Alo 710 loader instead. I felt it is a better design than the 32LA and the dealer also recommended it. I am very pleased with the Alo design and have bought some attachments for it with the same satisfaction. The Alo was also cheaper by about $600, a bonus, but was not a factor in the decision making process. Wanted to buy the best design.

Good luck, I hope you enjoy your new tractor as much as I like mine.

Jim,

I know that all of the TN engine sizes are all the same 2.9. The only reason you get a 15hp increase in the TN 70 is because of the turbo. And when something goes wrong with the turbo you are going to pay BIG TIME. I really don't need a big tractor because I only bush hog 35 acares. I do eventually hope to buy some more land and clean it up, but 35 will do for the time being. As for "THE CATCHES" thier better not be any becasue I have already signed the paperwork. You can't beat the 0* financing option. Now if we can get our CSCO, SUNW, DELL, GTW, NOK, RFMD and QQQ's going I might just have this tractor for free by the end of the year. Life can't be any better, a new tractor on the way plus the stock markets are starting to turn for the better! By the way how much land are you using that TN on? It really seems like a great piece of equipment.
