Just how \"new\" is a New Holland?

I am curious to know how to tell which model year a New Holland tractor is and to know how long it has been sitting on a sales lot. I have been given every story, including that there aren't model years for tractors. I would like to be able to determine for myself. Hints from any of you veterans out there?

Serial number will tell you the year, but if I remember right without going out and looking at mine there is a date of manufacture on the serial plate tag. Now I could be wrong but you have to remember I am getting old an to tired tonight to go out and look.

The serial number can tell you when the tractor was manufactured, but there isn't a tractor model year as such.
