Just got the MF 2360 Snowblower for the GC2300

I will post pics as soon as I am able. I had been going back and forth for a while trying to decide on a rear mount or front mount blower. Finally decided on the front mount, bit the bullet on the more expensive front mount unit. I am used to the front mount from other tractors, and with the steep inclines on my driveway, I thought the rear mount blower might be difficult to maneuver.
Its a Canadian built unit for Massey, (as they all are /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif, or seem to be so far). Massey Part and Model numbers, Massey Owners Manuals. I got the front hitch kit, driveline kit, and the snowblower itself. I already had the valve because I have the front loader. These kits come with everything you need to get it installed, including all the fittings, and hydralic lines.
My Old Tractor was a Honda 5013 4WD, and I had the front blower for it, and its the same blower basically, this one is larger obviously, but setup the same way,a nd it's probably the same manufacturer in Canada. If this thing blows snow anything like my old Honda did, I will be very pleased. Although the old Honda was only 13 HP gas, that thing would blow snow /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I had yet to see a snowblower of any type throw the snow so far. Given this blower is the same setup, and similar RPMS, and 23 HP diesel, I would predict that this setup will blow similar if not better, and take on more of a load.

Anyone have this front blower on their GC2300?? Curious to hear your opinions on it.
I will post pics, and some details of the installation, when I get it uncrated.

How big is this one? and if you don't mind me asking....How much $$$ was it? Is the chute rotation power or hand?

Von, It's a 50 in Blower, for everything I paid $3000.00. I got it with manual chute rotation; next year I will upgrade to a cab and the electric shute rotation, which is an option on this blower. It also has an option for an electric chute defelector.

Id have it setup now, and get you all some pics, but I am home this weekend, alone with a sick 13 month old /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. He rode to the dealership with me this morning to see all the tractors /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif, and pick up the Blower, but he has had a rough afternoon with a head cold. On top of that it's pouring rain. Not a very conducive day for uncrating the thing. I'll post more info and pics ASAP.
It's strange, the dealer I bought the 2300 from is 2.5 hours away, and I have done business with them for a number of years. However, I recently found a dealer 40 mins away that I never knew about. I stumbled across them, and found out it's a pretty big place and a Massey Dealer. This is where I ended up getting the blower from. Very nice people.

The bower wears a "2360" and "Massey Ferguson" logo, so Massey is backing this blower, hitch, and driveline, apparently.

Who is the manufacture of the snowblower you got? I was just at the Northwood dealership in New Hampshire and they quoted me with a 4,000 dollar price tag (installed).

I bought mine at Northwood Power and paid $3500 installed on my machine and thats with the electric chute, and that was in the fall (Nov i think) of 06. Only had 1 problem with the blower to date... the drive shaft for the blower came out from under the machine for the blower. found that they had the mid shaft (which is adjustable i.e. can move forward or back for adjustments) which sits in a mount with a bearing was not set right and as soon as i picked up the snow blower out it flew, almost got the garage door too. a phone call and 1 day later it was all better. This blower sends some snow flying too.. filled my neighbors drive up by accident which was 75 +/- feet away through the trees.

The Massey Ferguson 2360 snow thrower is the same unit as the 2650 Kubota. I had the Kubota version a few years ago. It was a nice unit but I am not sure who is making them. The only problems I had with the blower was the halfmoon key in the bottom gear of the drive line would work lose and fall out. I became very good at disassembling it to put it back in place. I finally smartened up and put a square head set screw in it that I could torque down to keep the key in place. The only other problem was I was forever replacing shear bolts in the auger and they were not all that easy to replace out in the freezing cold. They would shear off easily for no apparent reason. I finally replaced them with Grade 2 bolts. They would still shear off but not quite as easy...

I was quoted by Northwood Power in Maine $3500.00 for the 2360 blower and quick-hitch. The quick hitch also will fit the front plow and the sweeper.

I just got the 2360 unit used (looks brand new) from Keifer equipment in Ohio Jim shipped it in 2 days and I got it installed it 1 hour. Works fantastic throws snow a looong way! and at $2,000 including shipping for all three kits was quite a deal! Thanks again Jim.
