$6000? High hours? That is truly a line of bull sh*t.!

I'm just guessing but shouldn't that machine be worth about three times that?
I agree,that's BS.

As a point of reference, I paid $16K (in 2009) for a 3-year-old DK45S with 250 hours and I thought it was a great deal. Of course I've had zero problems, but I didn't know that then.

So he bought a tractor 400 miles from home and expects free transport for warranty repairs? Am I actually reading this correctly?

Is there some place that it was said that the dealer is 400 miles away? :confused: I read that the dealer wanted $400 to transport. :(

I call today got the run around that i need to pay to get it to the dealer I have had this issue sense day one getting tired of . Told him didn't have 400.00 with my daughters medical bills .

Says so right here for all to see.
The OP's avatar lists a Maine location and his post #18 here mentions a NJ dealer.
Not a situation where the seller is likely to offer free transport for warranty repairs, or send a service truck to stop by "when in the area".

I'm thinking this is part of "the rest of the story".

From day one with the tractor dealing with kioti rep Connie and her emails and dealer nasty email Saved them all. I also recorded the conversation with the rep telling my stop paying the bill to get the tractor to the dealer. They have tried fixing it twice. And the dealer at 400.00 buck a pop. The tractor to get to run is clear and unplug and plug everything back in to get it to start. And shouldn't take month to get a part
Landedakioti,I just punched in your zip code where you live.You have 5 Kioti dealers by you 3 are 5 paw dealers.They are located from 11 miles to 80 miles from your zip code.Try one of them.coobie

If this is the case, why would you talk to a dealer in NJ?
Warranty is warranty....any dealer should honor it. If not, then you have something to talk to Kioti about.
To transport a tractor that far and bypass several dealers....$400 seems fair...fuel and time aren't cheap.

Connie has been gone since November I trust from reading that here.

My thoughts on reading this thread (trying not to be critical) that the OP does have some sorely missing communication skills that could be affecting the negotiations and results.
Just my :2cents:

I believe he bought the tractor from New Jersey had lots of problems then used a dealer closer to home. I am familiar with dealer in NJ and felt very uncomfortable with him so went a different route. Hopefully this will work out for the best

If the tractor has been to the shop multiple times and the problem still hasn't been fixed then I understand the frustration about paying the trucking cost again. I would be upset as well in that case. Good luck to the op with this situation.

Nathan;
In an earlier post you wrote:

"Whittemore and sons had there mechanic come and replace the switch and the relays and they tested the voltage perfect then tested the the glow plugs perfect and it started right no issue. Very grateful for there help."

Ok, so we know Whittemore is a great dealer. We know Whittemore does house calls. We know you were happy with their technical abilities. We know that the tractor was fine when they left a couple months ago, and as soon as they leave the problem starts all over again.

Why didn't you ask them to return?

If memory serves either he or a non-profit purchased the tractor for some specific task. He had to for some reason have the tractor licensed for road use and had some type disagreement over that.

It could be that he has worn out his welcome at tractor dealers in his immediate area and is now having to seek assistance from another state.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, puts things in a different light. ;)

My understanding is that he bought the tractor in NJ, very cheaply, and selling dealer delivered to his place in Maine. They dropped it off and left, he wasn't even home when they did. When he arrived home he found a few issues with the tractor and selling dealer would now have nothing to do with him. Whittemore's has been trying to help him but they have done all they can without getting the tractor to their shop. They are not set up to do 'on the road' repairs. Whittemore's is just asking to be paid for transportation costs to and from dealer, which "Landed" doesn't seem to have. Whittemore's seems willing to try and fix under warranty once tractor is in their shop. I believe it is Kioti policy for warranty repairs for owner to provide transportation of tractor to/from dealer. To my knowledge, he has never had the tractor to a dealer for repairs, I was under the impression that Whittemore's had only sent him parts, they didn't actually go to the tractor. The nearest 2 dealers are each about 70 miles from "Landed", he is about exactly 1/2 between each one. I believe there was one about 15 miles from him.. but they closed 2 years ago.

Does anyone live close to LaK? I can't afford a trip to Maine to help, if I could I would, someone go over and take a look and report back, all this sounds really weird.
Either this guy has super bad luck or he is somehow missing something simple.

I live about 40 minutes away from him, I PM'ed him and offered to take a look at it, or help him move it to Wittemores when I get my trailer in a few weeks... his response was, "I'm calling the AG's office".

Nice !! I guess if I was a kioti dealer and folks threatened me with lawyers all the time I would avoid that customer like the plague.

IXLR8;

That was very generous of you to offer that level of assistance. I can't believe Nathan's response. You and your trailer will always be welcome at my home.....

I'm confused. Isn't the issue the shipping? IXLR8's (generous) offer should negate that concern. I thought that Kioti was stepping up to the plate with warranty if Nathan could get it to the dealer. :confused3:
