Oh come on! There are a lot of good points made in this thread, and yours about temperature is one of them. It is very difficult to know the meaning of results without approaching them from every whichway and seeing a robust trend. A single simple test, even tho well set up usually only gives you an excuse for a tentative conclusion. Conclusive testing is almost by definition tedious because what ifs abound. I think it would be a big step forward in this if yould alternate a few times and then do a 2 or 3 in a row of each. If the trend stays youve got it. - Probably. Then tedium starts - T, driving conditions, etc. These should cancel out in several cycles. What wont is you knowing which oil is in there. Subtle differences in result such as you saw are hard to bring to an absolute conclusion w/o tedium.kenmac said:I would expect this from you sully , only you know how things should be tested. If only everyone else knew as much as you the world would be a better place. I should have asked you how to perform this test b-4 I went out on my own. If I had ran amsoil 1st & then installed m 1 & the #s came out the same ,It wouldn't be good enough for you cause you just don't like amsoil !The lab that performes the test thought it was a good way to compare the 2 but, it doesn't supprise me that you don't think so.You should open your own oil lab & charge for your expert advise.
