Just bought a new fuel tank and pump

I need some help folks. I just bought a new fuel transfer tank and electric fuel pump. What do I use on the threads of the fuel pump and threads on the fill fitting to seal for dust and water?

If I use teflon tape is there a certain type for fuel (Diesel) use?

Will regular plumbers joint compound work?

I used regular plumbers teflon tape on mine and it works fine. I used it on all the fittings (suctions, filters, etc.). No issues to date.
