Hello All, great community here, what a source of info.

As I said I just put an order in for a B7800 with folding ROPS, Turf Tires, LA-402 FEL 60", 60" Rear Discharge Bush Hog, Allied 60" Rear Blower (Live in Syracuse NY had 148" this year and we were 50" off the record), rear chains and block heater.

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for the info. I think I got a good deal based on other net sites, but wish I came here first to be better educated.

Take Care :)

Welcome!

You will find a lot of nice people here. And a lot of help if you need questions answered or advice.

I was surprised to see you mention turf tires and a brush hog. I would think R4s would be better if you are going to be brush hogging, as compared to lawn cutting... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Or maybe that was a read discharge mower? Probably so...

I'm sure you're going to love that tractor. I sure

Hello Again,

Yes it is a rear discharge finish mower, not a heavy duty brush hog.

Thanks. Great Place /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats! Still in the research mode myself.

If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much did you pay for everything?

Hi jdf,

19480 + tax. Includes delivery setup etc. I thought about going through Carvers (on web in NC, great place to research), but although I didn't maybe get the best price I wanted to deal with a local company with a good reputation. I don't have a detailed breakdown of the accesories.

How does this compare to what you are looking at? I'd be curious.

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just an after thought...but...

Don't forget to put a toothbar on your list! One of the most usesful things I got for my tractor...picture attached... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...ranks up there with the box blade!

Thanks for the info on the toothbar. I will keep it in mind as I get used to the machine. I have a crush driveway - another big reason I am buying a tractor - which I must continually repair due to rain, etc. I thought if I left the bucket without a toothbar I could back up with the bucket turned down and grade the crush. Anyone have any tips?

Thanks, Frank /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That can be done, but it's much easier and quicker if you get a box blade for that job. And the tooth bar is great to increase digging ability, among other things.

I second Bird's comment.

Last week I spread some crushed limestone and used my box blade to smooth it. MUCH better than the front loader. Night and day to be exact.

The tooth bar comes off easily, just two bolts. But you don't have to take it off if you want to back drag, you just use the back side of the bucket.

But the box blade does such a better job...I may forget about back dragging with the loader altogether!
