While perusing the local junkyard (I do that all too often) I saw a scrapped digger derrick pole setting truck with a big hydraulic auger. Picture an International truck which puts in power poles. Every bit of it is available priced by the pound. I looked up the model number of the derrick body (Altec D1090B B) but couldnt find any specs on the auger motor. I want a hydraulic auger that I xan use on my loader or backhoe but I have a low flow tractor (Kubota M59).
Anybody here have any knowledge or experience? Its a big backache to haul it home, fabricate mounts and plumb it in to only get 5-6 rpm. The hoses connecting to this thing are way bigger than any of the hydraulic hoses on my tractor.
Im putting in a large driveway gate soon and this would make life much easier, especially with all of the fence I need to build and trees my wife wants to plant. Ive already used up 3 on-man gas augers but buying a proper one meant for my machine is more than I want to spend at this point.
